Need Intelligent Freeper Input: Guidelines For Our Prominent Freepers
Source: All of us | 02/11/2005 | By Laz

Posted on 02/11/2005 7:19:23 AM PST by Lazamataz

Recently, two Freepers who have some measure of prominance outside the forum have been damaged by liberals and/or Democrats. Jeff Gannon has resigned as a White House reporter, and the individual who goes by the name NCPAC has left his position in Maryland.

J. Gannon wasn't necessarily damaged by anything he posted here, but NCPAC was damaged by the work of a Democrat mole or a Washington Post reporter who revealed his freepmails.

It should be possible to post on this forum with anonymity and to be able to really discuss what's on your mind without worrying about Democrats trying to ruin your professional life, so, in order to help prominent Republicans who may wish to be an active member of Free Republic, I'm formulating some suggestions that I would like to have new users see.

This is what I have so far, as far as guidelines to help our prominent freepers avoid damage in the future:

If You Are A High-Profile Individual In “Real Life”….

If your daily job is such that you are a high-profile individual – as example, an official in a Republican campaign, or a state official in a Republican administration, or a rightward-leaning reporter – please read this article and take these suggestions.
  1. Please don’t reveal your identity. Please don’t drop hints as to who you are. Please don’t succumb to the temptation to show off a little and thusly compromise your anonymity.

  2. Know that there are Democrat operatives (and now, it appears, Legacy Media reporters) who pretend to be loyal conservatives. They will attempt to get you to reveal damaging information about your candidate, your administration, or your media enterprise.

  3. This is for ALL Freepers: Never reveal any personal contact information. Please don’t post (or share in Freepmail) any email accounts, private phone numbers, addresses, or places of employment – unless you really know and trust the person to whom you are revealing these things.

  4. Know that Freepmail can be, and sometimes is, exposed publicly. Please, never say anything in Freepmail that you would not want posted on the public forum. Please, people, add whatever you think might be helpful, and I will post the result as a new article.

No you're not. I know because I'm Lynne Cheney and I happen to know you're in the bathroom without your computer.

Did I also mention that I am an MP?

Which parliament are you a member of?

Just because you've deleted FReepmail from your outbox doesn't mean the recipient has deleted it from his or her inbox. Absent interception by third parties through legal or illegal means, FReepmail's as secure as the sender AND recipient want it to be.

And if you freep from work, it's not hard for the company's net security admin to set up a filter at the firewall that logs all forms submissions to a file. At work, you have NO right of privacy while using company PCs. You also have no idea if the net admin is a Dem activist who would become intrigued over activity involving FR

I've stopped freeping from work

Every current and former submariner (as well as former and current spouses therof) know classified information.

We are being watched. Do not raise, lower, rotate or radiate from any mast or antenna. Do not cycle the stern planes, rudder or torpedo tube outer doors, take suction from or dischage to sea, blow or vent any tank, operate sonar or other underwater equipment.

Bump your post. And googling will turn up a surprising lot of stuff on FR...Do you suppose limiting access to archives would help?

Thanks, Laz. Thankfully, I'm a nobody who says nothing the world can't know.

May God bless and protect those who are more high-profile.

Shame on the RATS.

re: How about making all n00bs read the entire Hobbit Hole series before they're allowed on the News/Activism forum? Only the good people would survive that....)))

LOL--I've often thought that active participation in the chats of FR would drive any liberal researcher crazy--if you try to search a poster's posts, and they have hundreds of chat posts...right there might be a security measure.

I have, previously, very seriously believed that very thing. I have also assumed much laziness on the part of opponents--

The very best rule of thumb when online on the internet is to never press any keys on your keyboard that you don't want the rest of the world to see regardless of whether or not you are well-known or not.

On a more local level:

Never press any keys on your computer when not online that you don't want the rest of the world to see regardless of whether you are well-known or not.

Unfortunately for me and I'm sure with many if not all freepers, I have posted some things that I wish I could take back but it's too late for that.

To summarize: When on the internet, remove your keyboard.

Not me. I STILL want sprawling concentration camps for liberals, with death houses running night and day, night and day....

Avoid having your photo posted in attendance of any Free Republic events, unless it is in an official capacity (e.g. as an invited guest speaker, for example). This applies mostly to people who are not as well known in public but who nonetheless might be targetted by the left.
