KAPOLEI, Hawaii (Feb. 9, 2005) -- Donovan McNabb has no apologies for his Super Bowl performance. He won't allow his teammates to make excuses, either.

. . .

The Eagles' offensive struggles were caused only by the Patriots and the tension of a Super Bowl, not a phantom sickness.

There is no excuse for the amout of time the Eagles let tick off the clock in the last couple of minutes, other than McNabb needed the time to upchuck. A couple of completed passes to a WR with a quick step out of bounds and we could have had a championship parade down Broad Street.

"What say you?"

Nice of "Dictator" McNabb to keep his players from making excuses. We are all, no doubt, thankful to be spared the wailing and gnashing of mouthpieces.

The dirt and dust is settling nicely, and soon will cover Philly completely.

If you had bacon, you could have bacon and eggs . . . if you had eggs.

I am mostly happy that the sub-set of Eagles' fans I call the Thugles have no SB championship to celebrate. For others, like you, who are in mourning, I have some sympathy as a dyed-in-the-wool Redskins fan.

"Don't be a hater."

Hater?

I fully expected super duper McNabb to run around, dragging two or more Patriots with him, as he passed for four touchdowns, ran for two, and got his running backs to get another three.

Hater? Not today.

The Super Bowl is over. Philly lost, Patriots won. It's in the record books.

Case closed.

Yes, the Super Bowl is over, and the Pats won. But you still found time to come to a conservative discussion forum to disparage Donovan McNabb & Philadelphia. If hate isn't driving you, tell me what is?

if you find out, please let me know. as someone who is not a huge professional football fan, and someone with absolutely NO pro team allegiance, i have been astounded at the vitriol directed towards donovan mcnabb. good GRIEF, there are actual CRIMINALS playing in the NFL that do not have the abuse and rancor heaped on them that he does. it seems pathological to me.

He's not just another player. He's a star quarterback with all the innuendo that title brings and he played like a pencilnecked dork in the biggest game of the year.

Grasp the moment xs!! Wake up! Smack! This is on-field criminality!! :-)

no, this really doesn't have as much to do with how he played the game, as a totally visceral dislike for this guy, who, from what i can tell, hasn't done anything to deserve it. the rush limbaugh business was not of mcnabb's making.

Donovan should have been bought the wings at the pool instead of the rookies.

He sucked! And to top it off at the 2min warning he played backwards. Rush was right!

Personally, I think it has to do with the Rush-McNabb dust up in 2003... Limbaugh lost his brief ESPN job and took a beating in the liberal media over it, and somehow McNabb is responsible, even though Rush was really indicting the NFL and the media who cover it, more than McNabb himself.

Without question, the Eagles are the team "FReepers Love to Hate" and McNabb is front and center.

if McNabb had actually DONE something to cause the Rush-ESPN dustup i could see it. but he didn't. so it is totally irrational IMO. but hey, there appears to be no reasoning with the haters. let them hate : )
