Rush Greeted Like Rock Star
NewsMax ^ | February 9, 2005 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 02/09/2005 9:21:23 AM PST by Kaslin

America's top radio talker Rush Limbaugh was greeted like a rock star on Monday during an appearance in San Jose, California, while taking a few days off from his regular broadcast to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament.

The packed house at the San Jose Civic Auditorium "welcomed him with a standing ovation," reported the San Jose Mercury News. "There were no hecklers or protesters, and the only shouts were of love for the host," the paper said.

"We are in the midst of a seminal historic shift in this country," Limbaugh told the audience. "The Democrat party and the media have lost their monopoly. They don't rule the roost anymore."

The watershed political moment would have amazed his father, the top talker observed. "If my father could see what's happened today, just the sight of the Democrat party would extend his life by 10 years."

That's one reason conservatives have nothing to fear from Hillary Clinton, he assured those on hand.

Still, the GOP faces a major political problem that can no longer be ignored, he warned. "The Republicans' failure to understand the American people's building rage on illegal immigration" could give rise to a third party candidate, he said, who could tip the 2008 presidential race to the Democrats, much the same way Ross Perot's campaign did in 1992.

Limbaugh also seemed to revise earlier criticism of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for not being conservative enough, telling the audience, "I was wrong."

2,700 people paid $40 a piece to see Limbaugh live. Proceeds from the event will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a charity Limbaugh has supported since he went national in 1988.

I like Rush but I love Hedgecock. I think he will succeed Rush when the big guy decides to hang 'em up.

Oh, and Dan's Bake Sale was a free event. About 20,000 people turned out (as I recall) and everyone cheered him -- no protests or jeers.

What you said. Don't see how they could screw that up as the original Merc article was clear on that. This response was somewhat cheeky. This overly-enthusiatic blond woman asked if Rush would admit he was wrong about his criticisms about Gov. Schwarzenneger. So after joking around with her for bit, asking her if she was married and the like, said... she's a woman, he's been a married man, so he was wrong.

I agree that kerry should be executed or worse but the fact is that he is just a minor point of trivia at this time. Chasing him to sign his 180 is not a smart use of resources

Leave that fruit on the tree until we need to pick it at election time. Bringing it out now does nothing. BUt leaving him alone continues to drive more people away from the democrats. It's like dean as DNC chair. It can only be good for us

Yes, we know he's the enemy, and that is why he is so harmless at the moment. It's the enemies that we can't see that we need to be looking for. (of course a strong hint that someone is an enemy is a "D" after their name)

Roger Hedgecock has the personality of doorknob. Impossible to listen to.

"But Hillary will be running as a Bush-lite candidate."

Maybe only during the primaries or the general election but not both. She's gonna have to gather up her base sooner or later. Of course Kerry tried the same thing and look at where that got him.

Rush won't even ask him, in 2005, when he will sign Form 180.

Considering pretty much everybody is ignoring you, I'll bite.

When does Rush talk to Kerry that he could ask him these questions?

Yes, and the proceeds go to charity (leukemia and lymphoma society), so we all won. :-)

Not really, considering that leftwing fanatics will drive hundreds or thousands of miles just to protest President Bush. $40 bucks to boo a big time conservative commentator is right up their alley.

You get what you pay for. Ann is def. worth that much and so is the cause. Maybe if you were in DC I could pay you to repair my bike and then you could go.

You are correct. She did it with the Senate run, with all her stinking baggage. "Nothing to fear" - those are over-confident words of doom. However, I will go door to door to help defeat her.

Tom Sullivan is incredibly boring.
Hedgecock does a good job but lacks the charisma of Rush. He is probably better informed and can argue the issues better than Rush, but lacks Rush's sense of humor.
Walter Williams is _the best_ guest host for Rush.
The worse host had to have been Tony Snow.

The worse one-time host was resident asshole and pompous LA lawyer Bill Handel. Too bad Laura Ingraham will never come close to his show in LA.

I don't want Kerry thrown out of the Senate....and I believe Rush does not either. For myself, I want Kennedy, Kerry and Dingy Harry to keep up their anti-American obstructionist tactics in a bald faced manner so that no one can misinterperate what they are doing. Maybe in '06 the conservatives can pick up a couple of seats in the Senate, working toward a veto-proof, filibuster proof Senate....then maybe the U.S. can really make headway in reversing the damage caused by liberal socalists over the last 60 years.

I may never see it because I have recently entered into codgerism....you know, I am officially a geezer. My time is limited, but dang....I would love to see a government constrained by the Constitution and not by special interests and arrogant federal judges who find "rights" where they do not exist before I croak.

Kennedy, Kerry and Dingy Harry are helping to bring this about IMHO.

"Since Rush didn't serve in the military wouldn't it be hypocritical for him to call for Kerry to sign Form 180?"

Q1)How come a Coast Guard Auxiliary member,
like myself, has to agree (which I did) to a
Questionnaire for National Security Positions
To have clearance to a Direct Operational position.
NOTE : This does NOT allow me to have access to any confidential or above data.
AND answer all questions AND agree to allow access to all my records.
Financial, medical and military records.

So does anybody think Hanoi Kerry hasn't agreed
to all of this to get a TOP SECRET clearance?

Q2) Why does the US Senate allow a traitor access
to top secret US intelligence data
BUT does not have access to the traitors
FULL military records?
What do US Senators know about the data in Hanoi Kerry's Form 180?

What is the US Senate hiding?

Does the US Senate think "We the People" are stupid?

ASK THEM!

Well.....let's see. These people pay $40 to see Rush and they expect him to get booed?

I dunno... Libs will pay $8.95 for a machine that blocks Fox News from their TV sets, I could see some paying $40 to jeer Rush.
