There they go again (blue state battle over Reagan resolution)

If anyone still believes that the current legislative session will be one of comity, look no further than Thursday's Minnesota Senate debate on a simple resolution from Republican Sen. Michele Bachmann to honor Ronald Reagan's birthday. What should have been a mere formality devolved into a truly embarrassing 45-minute debate.

Feel-good resolutions are nothing new in this august body. So far this session, the solons of the Senate have recognized the Minnetonka High School girls cross-country team, the Pierz High School football team, the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, Eagle Scouts, the Elk River Area School District and the accounting firm of Schechter Dokken & Kanter. There was even a resolution urging the Baseball Hall of Fame to induct Roger Maris.

DFL Sen. Satveer Chaudhary authored a resolution honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It noted that King's efforts on civil rights "made our society freer, more democratic and more inclusive." Really?

What about the disparity in test scores between blacks and whites in Minnesota? Or the hundreds of thousands of black voters supposedly disenfranchised in Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004?

These are all points that - taken to their extreme - could have been raised in opposition to the King resolution, but weren't. No such luck for Ronald Reagan.

"If this is what passes for the new bipartisanship in the Legislature, we're in big trouble." the only part I disagree with. The less they "accomplish", the more money I seem to have.

Well we know what the libs are and what they stand for. As such they hate everything about Reagan, since he was a conservative, patriotic American, he hated communism which points to many leftist members of our great Congress. The libs are losers and they continue to demonstrate their ANTI-AMERICANISM and outright sour grapes hate for one of the greatest American Presidents that ever lived.

The libs suck. Period.
