CINCINNATI -- A 911 dispatcher faces discipline and a mother who made a frantic call for help says she was outraged by the dispatcher's response.
The mother called to report the family's pit bull had attacked her 18-month-old boy.
The operator quickly dispatched an emergency crew, but she's in trouble for calling the mother and her husband "stupid people," News 5's Juliette Vara reported.
"Like I was to blame, I'm worthless, a no-good mom or something," said the mother, Samantha Osborne.
Osborne said the dog, called JD, had never been aggressive in 10 years with the family.
"He was good with my kids -- all three," she said.
But in a split-second, the pit bull turned on little Jesse, attacking his face.
"Three people were right there and dog out of nowhere went straight for the baby," she said.
Here's what was said when Osborne called 911:
Dispatcher: "What kind of dog attacked him, Samantha?"
Dispatcher, repeating: "What kind of dog attacked him, Samantha?"
Samantha to her husband: "What kind of dog is JD?"
Husband: "He's a pit bull."
Samantha to operator: "He's a pit."
Dispatcher: "Stupid people."
Tom Rapp, the dispatchers supervisor, called the remark "unacceptable" and said the dispatcher could be suspended.
Even though it's no excuse, Rapp said, emotions do get the best of his dispatchers sometimes.
"Any call you take involving a kid becomes 10 times more emotional. You find yourself wrapped up," he said.
When Osborne listening to a tape of the frantic call again, the entire nightmare was replayed.
A little boy scarred for life and a mother trying to overcome the guilt.
"I never want someone else to hear those words from 911 dispatcher, to feel the way I'm feeling. It's not right," Osborne said.
The little boy is out of the hospital after getting 17 stitches on his eyes and mouth.
The family dog was put down.
There should be special prisons for folks like this.
okay I will say it then..
STUPID PEOPLE!!
That's what http://www.customerssuck.com was made for... keeping your opinion off the job.
Someone once said that a "gaffe" is when you accidentally tell the truth.
Yup, having a dog that causes an injury to your baby that results in 17 stitches tells us all about your worth, lady.
"Osborne said the dog, called JD, had never been aggressive in 10 years with the family."
Had the dog ten years and didn't know what breed it was...
That qualifies her as stupid.
Yup. Why would anyone besides rappers have a pit bull?
Pit Bull left with a one-year-old. Stupid people...
The truth hurts sometimes.

TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH.
I blame Bush, SUVs and the Jews.
Hey lady......."Here's your sign!!"
I agree, STUPID PEOPLE who own a pit with young children. If our Cocker even starts to act stupid around very young kids we remove her immediately!
It's about responsible pet ownership and knowing your dogs behavior traits. As far as I'm concerned, the parents of the injured child should be looking at some penalty.
And no, I'm not anti-pit for you pit lovers, but they get all the press just like the evil esuvees.
Cheers!
When people ignore the repeated reports of Pit Bulls attacking children and go ahead and get one anyway....are ignorant Aholes.
Uh...yeah!
"Calling you stupid would be an insult to stupid people"...Jamie Lee Curtis to Kevin Klein in A Fish Called Wanda.
"a mother trying to overcome the guilt"
She should feel guilty --she was completely resposnible for leaving a dangerous breed with a child.
LOL! Thanks for the link!
