Well, he certainly was terrifying to me as a kidlet. I still love that flick - chock full o' post-WWII confidence and Americanism. The bad guy (beside the alien) was the pointy headed scientist that disdained everything but his world view (global harmony) and was willing to sacrifice everyone else to his ideals. BTW, Hawks made him out to be as much a commie as he could right down to the Lenin van dyke beard and the lambswool commie cap and coat. Great movie then, great movie now.

Ms Feather & her honey live in upstate New York.

One winter morning while listening to the radio, they hear the announcer say,
"We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even numbered side of the street, so the snow plow can get through."

Ms Feather goes out and moves her car.

A week later while they are eating breakfast, the radio announcer says,
"We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd numbered side of the street, so the snow plow can get through."

Ms Feather goes out and moves her car again.

The next week they are having breakfast again, when the radio announcer says,
"We are expecting 12 to 14 inshes of snow today.  You must park..........." then the electric power goes out.

Ms Feather is very upset, and with a worried look on her face she says,
"Honey, I don't know what to do." "Which side of the street do I need to park on so the plow can get through?"

With the love and understanding in his voice like all of us men who are married to Blondes exhibit, Ms Feather's honey says, "Why don't you just leave it in the garage this time?

Good Morning troops!! Good Morning everyone! Here is today's humor attempt!

The following is supposedly a true story relating to a United States shipping company.

THE U.S. shipping company had a new ship built. It was to be the pride of the fleet, and something special was wanted to decorate the captain's saloon, a large living room/office where the vessel's business and entertaining would take place.

Someone suggested that a set of nautical prints would lend a nice touch. He knew of a shop in London that specialized in such things, and the prints were ordered and hung in the saloon.

It was not until the trial run of the vessel, when both the builder's and the owner's representatives were aboard, that someone looked closely at the prints. Each was of an American ship being captured by, or surrendering to, a British warship during the War of 1812.

Well, My sister and her husband from georiga are coming down later today. They're gonn stay with us through Saturday.

Also today is download day for Windows. We're anxiously waiting for the 9 or so updates to come out sometime today. We'll see how it all works out.
