(Anyone out there remember "Space:1999?"

I remember, where the moon took off on it's own direction!

Lots of British speaking actors!

There was a crisis every show! *L*

tonights replay of battlestar gallactica was very very good.

Is there someone who would be willing to tape battlestar gallactica for me. I no longer have cable. This is the new Sci Fi channel TV series of fourteen episodes. I have the four hour miniseries and episodes "33/Water" (2 hrs) aired on Jan 14, and "Bastille Day" (1 hr) aired on Jan 21.

My taping contacts have become unreliable.

Great Thread.

My favorite: Independence Day

Because:

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs was a Marine, Will Smith, the first hero, was a Marine, the fighters were Marine Corps F/A-18s out of Marine Corps Air Base El Toro, and the other hero, Jeff Goldblum, was an MIT Ph.D.

The aliens were all ugly and communist.

It was my view of the world.

Oh yes Space 1999 aired first with Martin Landau and his wife in the fall of 1972. It was a hoot but had to watch it.

The mini-series: "V" This one was about the reptilian "benefactors" who were stealing the Earth's water, vacuum sealing humans and, through one, impregnating a young woman. Fortunately the human/alien child saved the day and the evil Diane had to go back eating mice rather than humans. This one also featured an endearing half-witted alien (Willie) who was played by the actor who did Freddie Kruger.

Don't forget the best part - the vicarious Clinton White House got vaporized. That show came out during krinton's reign and the movie theater I was in nearly went wild when the WH got hit. Now, I'll grant you that the movie hero was President/pilot/Marine, but the subtext in the audience was that it was krinton that was getting wiped out as the cat-calls made it plain.

P.S. My favorite is Howard Hawk's 'The Thing' with James Arness in his first role as the alien carrot man.
