Darwinian Evolution is NOT Science, but Theory no more valid
nor invalid than Creationism. Perhaps the salad shooters
evolved by random happenstance from monkeys that came by way of happenstance from an amoeba that evolved by happenstance from some other form of matter-but by God someone had to Create th efreakin' Matter and anti-matter
But it doesn't matter to the salad shooters.

Memo to you: the theory of evolution is a scientific theory, while Creationism is a religious belief. Don't you dare to confuse the two!
Evolution is science. It is both fact and theory, in that evolution has happened, and the modern synthesis is the theory that explains how. It has shown by the millions of points of data that support it. Creationism is nothing more than a bronze-age, Middle Eastern myth that only children and the pathetically ignorant believe to be literally true.
A scientific theory is an explanation that links together multiple facts into a systemic body of knowledge. A scientific theory is higher in a hierarchy than facts and hypotheses. A hypothesize is closer to the layman's definition of theory. Creationism has none of these elements and, hence, cannot be considered science. One important point that makes Creationism fail the basic tenets of science is that it does not have any information or insight into the origins of the Creator. In order to be valid, creationism must have some idea how a creator that creates us came into existence. Our origins ultimately reside in the origins of such a creator.
Secondly, there is no room for supernatural intervention in the physical worlds. If there was, experimental sciences would be irreproducible and the explanation "God did it" would be sufficient.
The Fundamentalist Christian approach to science will result in it's elimination from schools and the U.S. will cease being a force in technological and scientific endeavors. Students here will be forced to be scientifically dumb and ignorant, but, hey, they will be saved!
Well, the theory of evolution is definitely science, although perhaps not the scientific method, since it can't be verified through experiment. Same goes for creationism, though, although for some, creation is more a matter of faith than of reason.
Some creationists attempt to make evolution into a religion, which it's not, and creationism into a science, which it usually is not, but could be. I don't actually see the need for moral equivalency in the debate.
I agree with the creationists that man cannot rely on reason alone, still, no way can we ignore it either, it's on of God's greatest gifts to us.
"Darwinian Evolution is NOT Science, but Theory"
Theory is science. Its a part of science. Evolution is a scientific theory. Creationism is not science, but creationists can use science to disprove Evolution, and I think that as scientists they should try.
