Silvio says:

"Mustn't laugh at how dumb our enemies are, mustn't laugh at how dumb our enemies are, mustn't laugh at how dumb our enemies are..."

A woman with no intellectual boundaries has been captured by a group with no ethical boundaries.
Now her captors can't work out who is Arthur and who is Martha in their "Friend-or-Foe Pick-a-potential Hostage" macabre game.
To: GeronL
They have captured their ally... hahaUnless they "captured" her the same way they "captured" the two female Italian aid workers last summer.

Sad, sad.
On another note, if Orianna Fallaci were 50 years younger, I would ask her to marry me. That women has the sexiest mind...

I think Eason Jordan is saying she was targeted by the US

First an action figure, next a antiwar anti-American liberal journalist. What could be next?

"But the journalist's colleagues pointed to her anti-American stance, saying that holding her would damage the image of Iraq."
1. That's assuming that the hostage-takers represent the 'image' of Iraq. Those who risked their lives to vote last week might have something to say about that.
2. Reminds me of a story that G. Gordon Liddy likes to tell about some Greenies who decided to swim in African waters that were infested by crocodiles. Having been warned of the danger one of them said, "but we're environmentalists, those creatures won't hurt us." Soon afterward the crocs said, "uuurrp!"

A woman with no intellectual boundaries has been captured by a group with no ethical boundaries. Great way of putting it. They kind of deserve each other.

She had been working outside a university in the capital, Baghdad, when the militants captured her. Actually, they captured her outside of a mosque where she was doing anti-American interviews with refugees from Fallujah.

TIME RUNNING OUT FOR ITALY Actually, time is running out for this Commie witch, not Italy. If they killed her, they would be doing Italy and the free world a favor.

Ms Sgrena is a veteran reporter for the communist daily Il Manifesto. Perhaps someone, somewhere, will look at this mess and realize what the rest of us have already figured out:Unless you are a committed jihadist who pines for the 11th Century, you are an infidel. That goes for devout Christians, non-fascist Muslims and for sure it goes for Commies.

"for sure it goes for Commies."
Nonsense. Militant Islam was hijacked by the Communist PFLP decades ago.
They'll release her as soon as they verify that she's one of them.

Dumb is right, but if she survives, I bet she'll keep defending them.

Don't talk us about the kidnapped Italian in Iraq. They were the worse. They never thanked our Government because they are communists, anti-americans, pacifists... They prefer to thank Islam or the Terrorists. They dishonor my great Country!
The only one who was a hero was Fabrizio Quattrocchi with his "Now I show you how an Italian dies".
We don't want to run out. We are in Iraq to fight with you and we are proud of that. We are your ally, and we will be forever. When Italy gives its word Italy keeps its word. Remember this.
