Some in U.S. voting with their feet (Barf Alert)

VANCOUVER, British Columbia Christopher Key knows exactly what he would be giving up if he left Bellingham, Washington. . "It's the sort of place Norman Rockwell would paint, where everyone watches out for everyone else and we have block parties every year," said Key, a 56-year-old Vietnam War veteran and former magazine editor who lists Francis Scott Key, who wrote "The Star-Spangled Banner," among his ancestors. . But leave it he intends to do, and as soon as he can. His house is on the market, and he is busily seeking work across the border in Canada. For him, the re-election of George W. Bush was the last straw.

Google Search yields this:

Whatcom Symphony Orchestra
Christopher Key, Executive Director;
PO Box 4037, Bellingham, WA 98227;

So this is some non-profit dweeb who probably hates the folks who make his cushy life possible.

Good luck finding a parasite job up in Canuckistan,

The more that leave the merrier. Canada is already ruined so the damage they inflict on that country won't be as noticed.

"Why the barf alert? This is an inspiring article! This is something to be encouraged!"

Sometimes you just can't win. If I hadn't put in the barf alert someone else would have slammed me for not doing so;-)

Well, I love your screen name!

O God of battles! steel my soldiers' hearts;
Possess them not with fear; take from them now
The sense of reckoning, if the opposed numbers
Pluck their hearts from them!

""It's the sort of place Norman Rockwell would paint, where everyone watches out for everyone else and we have block parties every year," said Key..."

Oh my. Another reactionary who is trying to recapture some bygone era that really exists only in their minds.

I always believed these lefties were patriarchal reactionaries pining for a time when their views, opinions, and demands were obeyed without question like some unequal relationship.

Look at Ward Churchill screaming that you have no right to question his statements although he believes he has an unequivocal right to say it, and Bill Gates in China this week congratulating the Chinese government on their New Form of Capitalism. My, my. I never knew that the Master/serf, or slave/Owner equation in the business model was apropos to the twenty-first century, but apparently to those left embracing folks, it is.

That's the left: Reactionaries. I'm sure Canada with a spate of wig-clad judges making laws that you WILL follow is just fine. Nothing like unelected officials determining what laws will be created to give one that warm-all-over feeling that one has stepped into the 16th century.

At least we can still fight this in the US.

Francis Scott Key can now quit constantly turning over in his grave knowing that this scumbag descendant will no longer shame him on U.S. soil.

Don't invoke Norman Rockwell, you stinking hippie. He stood for everything you'd burn to the ground if we gave you a chance. Did anyone know that in 1917, Rockwell tried to enlist in the Navy to fight in WWI, and was rejected for being too light? He spent the night stuffing donuts and bananas in his face, and got in the next day!

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Unfortunately, most of these morons will never make the final move. Having lived and worked in multiple countries - even with the help of a major corporation it is a tough process. These morons have no concept of the actual hurdles they have to overcome just to convince the host nation to take them. Even Canada isn't interested in adding more deadbeats to an already overly large population. I doubt if the really want a bunch of 'political' malcontents. Countries typically want immigrants that will ADD something to the nation. Even if accepted, these losers will inevitably face a significant reduction in income, a reduction in purchasing power (the Canadian dollar is worth something like 73 cents) and the problem of getting a job in a floundering economy. In addition, for the Florida refugee - 5 to 6 months of winter weather sucks especially if you are used to Florida's weather. Finally, the US is not in ANY danger of becoming a net population loser; unlike a particular state - say mASSachusetts.

Christopher Key said, "But America is turning into a country very different from the one I grew up believing in."

I don't know what he was raised to believe America was supposed to be but I have to say it is just now returning to what I was raised to believe it should be...free.

She and her Canadian boyfriend, a Web site designer for Canadian nonprofit companies, had been planning to move to New York, but after Nov.2, they decided on Canada instead.

I applaud their decision on a final destination. The market for nonprofit website designers in the U.S. is saturated.

Redman intends to apply for a conjugal visa, which can be easier to get than the skilled worker visa that most Americans require.

Apparently she has at least one skill to fall back on, but she may have to compete with Romanian ladies if the boyfriend is a comparison shopper.

Yippee!

Bye!

Do forget to write.

I wish they would go further away than Canada. I wish they would go to France or Cuba.

After 911 over 400 illegal Paki's also headed North to Canukistan. Some Canadians are starting to worry what the US will do if they are ever in need.

None of these people are going to give up their citizenship. I'd be very happy if they didn't try to come back and vote.
