JUST FOR TODAY
As I go through some "troubles" in my own life, I've worked out this "formula" to help me be a useful and happy person. See if it doesn't work for you!
JUST FOR TODAY: I will try to live through this day only, and not tackle my whole life problem at once.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will be happy. I will assume to be true what Abraham Lincoln said: "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be."
JUST FOR TODAY: I will try to strengthen my mind. I will study. I will learn something useful. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will adjust myself to what is, and not try to adjust everything to my own desires.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will exercise my soul in three ways: I will do somebody a good turn, and not get found out. I will do at least two things I don't want to do just for exercise. I will not show anyone that my feelings are hurt; they may be hurt, but today I will not show it.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, talk low, act courteously, criticize not one bit, not find fault with anything, and not try to improve or regulate anybody but myself.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will have a program. I may not follow it exactly, but I will have lt. I will save myself from two pests: hurry and indecision.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will have a quiet half hour all by myself. During this half hour, I will try and get a better perspective of my life.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will be unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful, and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give back to me.

Is it just me or does hearing songs like "America the Beautiful" and the National Anthem when you're not on U.S. soil affect anyone else more strongly too?

As twilight nears, woos us in
day is done and shadows creep
from corners of the dance hall room
merry mirth, laughing, dancing
in the half shadow of night
with Mercury heels on our feet
we whirl to music in our heads
our songs we sings with out dread
and others in the room need hear
the midnight Ride of PAUL REVERE.
So while little night bugs blink
and glow, time stands still for now
for the dance of words moves like
silk in a gentle breeze and your
face in midnight shadow gives off a glow
satisfaction guaranteed it reflects..
a good night's dance and sweet good night kiss.

While in the hospital, 1stSgt. Kasal has met President Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, and several other celebrities. He said that Bush came in by himself and had a very long, sincere, and friendly visit with him.And President Bush doesn't care about our troops. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! He just doesn't need to take the MSM/cameras with him!!!

I remember when T went on the Crook and Chase Show to talk about what led him to write "Wine Into Water". A lot of guts indeed! Great song.

Breathless it leaves me,
Senseless it reels me,
Scents of the pine and magnolia beguile me,
Smoke from the bonfires rising in the boughs
making me forget the whyfores and the hows,
cares are gone, flying fast
with dance and song, the spell is cast.

It had the same effect on me last year in Iraq. Except we all stood and saluted when it was played.
Hey speaking of requests...how about Ray Charles "AMerica The Beautiful".
