Michael Savage said tonight on his radio program that the Jan. 31st elections in Iraq were merely a fraud and a prop. Of all people I thought Savage would welcome democracy in the Middle East. But he seems to think that the Iraqis will install an Islamic fundamentalist state. I'd like to get some thoughts on this.
Yes, of course. But complete ignoramuses are still more prevalent (even on this thread :-)
i think mikes comment today about not giving the soldiers a psychologic edge. He is spot on, note how we were villified over the stupid abu gharab bs. THEN TO HAVE THE AUDACITY TO HAVE AN ENEMY COMBANTANT(SYRIAN) SPEAK AT THE SOLDIERS COURTMARTIAL! I am dead serious some of us(soldiers) really get worried, if we shot this guy are we going to be alright?
You must'a drunk more than I did tonight. I'm lost. Repeat message.
Yeah, so were the mortars and car bombs....idiot.
Savage has always suggested that dividing up the country yielding parts to Jordan, Syria, and Iran was possibly the best choice.
And screw the Kurds again (our most loyal faction of the bunch), you're a nice guy.
Unfortunately, the opposite has occurred.
He came highly recommended by a friend of mine. The more I listened, the less I liked-- even though I agreed with much he had to say-- more, that is, than say, Al Franken...
I've tuned in on occasion since that time and continue to be amazed at how far he seems to have degenerated.
It's like not seeing your niece for months and marvelling at how much she's grown-- even though her parents don't seem to have noticed the change....except, in reverse.
Alright with me,,,and my Southern American Family.Shooting certain People might not be Fun,But it is Justified!
don't know if you are being facetious or not but I'm sticking up for my alma mater.....dude, like know all the facts........what the hell is "feces swapping"....
Good point. Uh.. you are much too rational for this thread. Move along please.
LOL!
As a conservative, I detest Berkeley for who they are and what they stand for: Anti-Americanism within a socialistic/communist (and publicly,ie American taxpayer, funded)environment.
Their science/health colleges may not be, but Berkeley as a whole goes to great lengths to be vocally Anti-American. Nobody, not even an alumnus like you, could dispute this fact.
I'm from Chicago, but I won't come on this conservative board and tell Freepers "be careful" when they diss the Peoples Republic of King Richard II. Chicago needs to be dissed, and so does your alma mater, ths Socialist Berkeley.
Feces swapping was a government funded public live "art" exhibit where grown men exchanged in a "gay" color schemetheir feces on the campus of........
U Cal-Berkeley!
And I will detest this until the day I die, you can bet the ranch on it.
Your "be careful" should be directed to these morons and the faculty of your alma mater, not directed to this conservative American.
He is "show business" more in the sense of what makes a successful show than mere money, IMO. I've listened from his beginnings in SF and he's often described his analysis, his style, and his methods.
I believe him when he tells of his reason for entering talk radio. He tells the story from time to time.
There has not been anyone like him since Joe Pyne though we here in Sacramento have Mark Williams to help counter the opposite end of conservative radio: Republican Party hacks pretending to be talk radio hosts. IMO.
Actually, that's one of the things that Savage says that annoys me, and I'm a fan. The US was never, pre-WWII or during the War, in danger of being conquered by the Japs or the Krauts.
I'm shocked that nobody commented on post #47 from this thread. That post stopped me in my tracks. It should be required viewing for all high school history students.
What an eye opener.
I agree. Mike's intensity is worth preserving. I still think he's mostly showbiz...but, hey, that's what it takes to get heard.
He's calling for Americans to throw the republicans out of office now, "they're too entrenched, all they care about is their party and not the American people."
You missed the rest of the post. To wit, "His point was that an election cannot overcome the facts of life. He's convinced that the Bush Administration will not let Iraq go the way of an Iran despite elections. There will be division of Iraq if necessary to protect the Kurds, etc."
In fact, I believe the Kurds favor dividing up the "country" to get their independence.
Savage should go back to hawking herbal remedies.
He's calling for Americans to throw the republicans out of office now, "they're too entrenched, all they care about is their party and not the American people."
If we take his advice, we'll have Hillary/Pelosi in the White House from 2008-2016! What a genius:(
