The problem is that students won't repudiate him. He teaches Ethnic Studies, which usually means his courses are electives that may satisfy some sort of nonsensical "diversity" requirement, but are one of many that do so. The grades he gives are often absurdly high, which makes the course popular.

The problem is that if he has few students, so much the better for him -- less grading and his own little band of devoted disciples.

His PhD was apparently from a very radical Illinois university where the grades were nonexistent and the degrees were jokes.

You call Sangamon State "radical"?

OK, I take that back. You're right on target. I was confusing it with another university.

From what I've read, quite radical. This guy certainly thinks so.

it could just as easily be your ox being gored

Our ox doesn't usually get to have tenure. According to Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey, this is why they ended up in Congress.

Well, then up-end Churchill with unrelenting public ridicule. "The 9/11 victims were "little Eichmanns"??? Insane!

Just keep blaring his insane and inane comments. Don't be surprised if next semester's enrollment drops significantly. If it doesn't decline, keep on blaring.

Churchill's claim of Native American blood heritage is FALSE. That make me sick too. He's sociopathic - in an academic way, of course.

Is there a *non compos mentis* clause in tenure? How about if Churchill is offered a prolonged sabbatical in a psycho ward?

As to his youthful followers, the "willing fools", what kind of arm bands are they wearing?

I know something about university recruitment of faculty, so one needs to follow the trail back to whoever in the Ethnic Studies department recommended Churchill. Faculty recruitment is a process of ideological nepotism. For insight into this process and "liberal" academia, I recommend reading (non-fiction)The Scarlet Professor by Barry Werth.

Quote from article:
"What he [Churchill] really had said, he explained, was that the United States could expect to reap what it has sown—that U.S.-sponsored “genocide,” such as economic sanctions on Iraq after the first Gulf war (his example), will inevitably provoke 9/11-style attacks."

Anti-American propaganda broadcasted by supposedly knowledgeable and creditable (anti-American) academics like Churchill are echoed by the MEDIA and throughout the world. Kofi Annan, Saddam, the UN cabals, and probably Pres. Chirac are all responsible for Iraq suffering "genocide" and deprivation because in their collusion the UN, et al, defrauded the Oil-for-food program.

I blame frikkin congress for being so irresponsible, so passive, so cowardly on this issue. MUTE as hell when the "liberal" groupthink maniacs scream over and over their anti-American propaganda and that Bush is a "liar."

WHOSE benefit and WHAT allegiance does congress represent?

They can pay him a salary and tell him to never visit campus again. My guess is that the guy has advocated violence often enough for the administration to have just cause.

Ward Churchill was probably in on the ground floor of the ethnic studies department, don't kid yourself. You see, the problem with him is that people didn't publicize what he said. Academia has gotten so shrill that people in these departments form an echo chamber and only listen when their rantings are one-upped by even more insane hyperbole. This will, hopefully, reveal just how much the humanities have deteriorated in general and the complete nonsense of these Garbage Studies departments in particular.

Actually, Ann Coulter did speak on the CU Boulder campus during last year (03-04). Somewhat less than well received but she did come and speak none the less.
