The residents of a small Iraqi village have killed five insurgents who had attacked them for voting in last weekend's national elections.
Several other insurgents were also wounded.
The insurgents raided the village of al-Mudhiryah south of Baghdad after warning its inhabitants not to vote in the election.
The villagers fought back, killing five of the insurgents and wounding eight others.
The insurgents' cars were then set alight.
Al-Mudhiryah's tribal sheikh says his people are sick of being threatened by Islamic extremists.

I can't decide which part of this is the best news. The fact that the village people took on the terrorists or the fact that ABC actually reported this piece. It's the Australian version of ABC news.
Maybe the Australian media are slightly more honest about what's happening in Iraq.

OK, Tommy Dasshole is out of a job, but I can't resist -
He is deeply saddened.

I found it very encouraging to read that more Sunni wanted to vote but did not do so because they were threatened. Poor MSM in Australia, still trying to talk up civil war.The MSM in this country is trying to talk-up Sunni revolt too. Look for them to try and lionize some Sunni loudmouth cleric.

our Opposition party (Labor, like your Democrats) are not ruled by rabid left wingers and agree that our troops should remain in Iraq.
Could we trade parties? Please?

Good for them!

Insurgents getting some of their own medicine .. KOOL!
>>Al-Mudhiryah's tribal sheikh says his people are sick of being threatened by Islamic extremists. <<
As well they should be! If they have to take matters in their own hands, then they're given no other choice but to defend their lives and their property.

I'm a little late in reading the posting and replying, but if anyone out there reading this from Teddy Kennedy's, Madame Pelosi and Madame Boxer's state, please email them at the Congressional Offices this article!

The first thing I did after reading the article (hadn't read your reply at that point) was to email a copy of the article to Teddy at his Senate offices, requesting a reply. I'm not from MASS, so not sure he'll even acknowledge it let alone read it!

I can just imagine an Iraqi saying ENOUGH, thats IT! Then Taking his AK and unloading the clip into the group of insurgents.
SURPRISE, you NUT CASES from Syria and Saudi, take a little 7.62 in your guts for a change!
