If somebody hijacked a bunch of cute cartoon characters and put them in a video that urged little kids to try drugs and alcohol, and if this video were to be shown at school, parents would be banging down the Board of Education's doors--right? And if the perpetrators of this outrage got found on, but acted swiftly to clean up their website, but not fast enough to keep the information from going public--that wouldn't put all those angry parents back to sleep, would it? Listen up, parents. That controversial Sponge Bob video you've heard about, and maybe decided to ignore, is coming to 61,000 elementary schools on March 11. It doesn't tell your kids to take drugs, but it does come with lesson plans aimed at convincing children that there's nothing wrong with doing gay sex. In act, the only ones who are wrong, according to these lesson plans, are those who say gay sex is wrong. Come March 11, this is what your kids are going to be taught in school, courtesy of the We Are Family Foundation, a front for the Gay Mafia (GLAAD, GLSEN, the "Human Rights Campaign," et al). The fact that Sponge Bob, Barney the Dinosaur, Winnie the Pooh, and almost 100 other children's TV characters have been co-opted into this enterprise shows the damnable cleverness of these people. Who's going to be suspicious of Sponge Bob? And anyone who blows the whistle on this thing is going to sound like a nut. That's what happened to Dr. James Dobson (Focus on the Family) when he sounded the alarm last month. By the time people went to the We Are Family website, the cupboard was bare. By the time Big Media got around to it, the website was as pure as the driven snow. While the lazy clods at CNN, CBS, the New York Times, etc., contented themselves with making fun of Dobson, expending effort only to distort his words, bloggers investigated. They soon recovered all the dirt that had been removed from the site, proving that Dobson had told the whole truth and nothing but. If you want the details, go to the Focus on the Family website and read Dobson's January newsletter; or call them up and ask them to send you a copy. Now that you know the truth, America, are you going to let your children go to school on March 11? Are you going to allow your school board to preach sodomy to your children? Have you ever wondered why your kids have to lug home a 25-pound bag of schoolbooks every day? That's all the stuff their unionized teachers don't get around to covering during school hours--odds and ends like reading, English, science, and history. While the teachers rattle on about condoms and homophobia, your kids are being asked to home-school themselves. Your school tax dollars at work! But don't worry about your kids missing out on any real education if you keep them home on March 11. The only thing they won't learn that day is that it's intolerant to reject gay sex. There. You've been warned. You know the score. If your kids are into exotic sex before they're into high school--well, you could have prevented it. Love it. Please keep the SpongeBob threads coming.
So what was the REAL content of the video before the edit??? I'm still reserving judgment--the author here doesn't give any specifics...
Is there a Sponge Bob ping list? Can I be on it?
At the risk of being attacked..I saw the video in question..as did my kids..it was just a compilation of disney, nickelodeon and pbs characters dancing around..not dirty or suggestive..actually..spongebob was barely in it..it also had Bill Cosby in it..and yes..that sleazebag whoopi..but she was brief..didn't do anything bad..it was just standard stuff..no gay browbeating..actually..Speaker Newt Gingrich even said on Fox that Dobson may have hurt himself because of his bad staff advising him on this issue..the tape is ok..but if they pass out info at the schools..that could be a problem..but the tape as we saw was ok..
There's supposed to be a pledge the kids are supposed to sign afterwards. Do you know anything about that?
I believe the controversy was about the teachers materials and the pledge, stuff that has been scrubbed from the website.
If that is the issue then Dobson needs to produce that to the public..the video is ok..but if the propaganda is wrong then I would not appreciate that..
we-don't-need-your-thought-control alert.
What country do you live in that uses '..' to end a sentence?
