OLYMPIA - Whoever wins the legal challenge to the governor's election, the citizens of Washington will pay.
In fact, they're already paying.
The state expects to spend about $200,000 of taxpayer money on private lawyers defending the secretary of state's office...

If judge determines it to be impossible to know who won (legitimately), then I would think Washingtonians would be more than willing to foot the bill. Aren't there something close to 800+ votes determined to be illegitimate in this election that separates Rossi and Gregoire by less than 200 votes?
Thats different. The media seems to think it's the devine right of libs to hold office.
Money well spent....
>>Aren't there something close to 800+ votes determined to be illegitimate in this election that separates Rossi and Gregoire by less than 200 votes?<<
I believe it is closer to 4,000. And she won by a fraction of that.
We will be getting a revote, mind bogglingly corrupt judges notwithstanding.
No more Fraudoire!
Just thought of something--if the taxpayers money is spent to get the correct-elected person in, then the Legislature won't have to raise $1.6 billion in taxes to pay for their salary increases or any other demoncRAT push. Heheheheheh! Whatta wonderful thought.
Indeed. I'm fine with having my tax dollars spent this way. At least they aren't going to some transportation project in King County like they normally do.
This is chump change when you consider how much a RAT controlled House, Senate and Governors office will cost the taxpayers with increased taxes on us serfs.
... or even worse ... Gregoire's salary!
I think it amounts to about one one thousandth of one percent of the state budget.
You don't believe the Monorail and the Alaska Way Viaduct should have a higher priority than the rest of the transportation requirements in the state?
I'm shocked.
Correction: Taxpayers Foot Bill for the Theft of Washington State Governor's race; Democrats refuse to concede to the will of the electorate for a revote.
Oops, forgot the monorail. Gotta love that Seattle only monorail. It almost comes within 80 miles of my house. I should take it to work everyday! And while I'm at it, I'll donate my personal income to the project because they already wasted my tax dollars on coffee and muffins at all the thousand or so community meetings they have had on it.
Truth in Headlines:
Taxpayers to Foot Bill For Democrat Election Fraud
We also heard endlessly about how much it was costing the taxpayers during impeachment. And we're also hearing about how much the Iraq War is costing. Funny how whenever cost is mentioned, it's always to make the democrats look good and the gop look bad.
This is one of the dem standard poo-poo canards.
While they complain about money spent on accountability in elections, they are busy proposing hundreds of millions of ***new*** spending on things that hurt business owners, landowners, gunowners and parents who don't want their children educated to the gay lifestyle.
Also they want to rob doctors to pay the teachers union, the very same union that has a habit of calling strikes on a first week back to school.
The proposed 13% in ***new*** spending if held up will be characterized as a 'budget deficit' that they claim can only be remedied via higher taxation.

They didn't complain about the cost. But I'm glad to hear about the liberals' sudden interest in "junk lawsuits." Does this mean they're finally on the bandwagon for Tort reform {please note sarcasm here}?
Yeah, spending taxpayer money on lawsuits you don't agree with is a waste of money, isn't it Libs? Have we even dipped into the amount of taxpayer money that has had to be spent in Ohio, where Bush won by 113,000 votes+??? How much does it cost those people to take time off to recount a known result? How much does the Ohio Secretary of State's office have to spend defending against a ridiculous lawsuit?
How much taxpayer money was spent in Oregon just today, over a dispute on whether or not Grey Wolves are Endangered or just "In trouble?"
Yet a reasonable expense of $200,000 to determine who won the Gubernatorial Election of an entire state is just outrageous! Why I bet the taxpayers are outraged that Rossi is challenging Gregoire! Oh no.....wait.......it turns out a huge majority of them think she stole the election and are willing to pay the money in order to enforce the idea of legitimate elections.
It's a small price to pay - $200,000 - to prevent the actual stealing of a Governor's office in the United States of America.
Now let's talk Tort reform again.......
They waste, fraudently use and "lose" more money than that in a month. I want this Re-Vote and it will be money well-spent.
