Senate has just started debate on Gonzales nomination for AG..Spector is leading off..he's just awful..not sure if he's speaking for or against the nomination..Debate is supposed to end today, with a vote also today...

I saw a USA Today article the day Gonzalez was picked to succeed Ashcroft, and it said that Gonzalez was a prodigy of Ashcroft. The only critics of the article was the ACLU. If the ACLU doesn't like the guy, he's gotta be good.

I remember Linda from the OJ trial (I've seen her on one or two additional stories, too).
IMO, she's a *pretty straight shooter*, but I don't approve of bending over backwards to appear so "openminded" that one is accepting absurdities as "reasonable doubt" and I think she is one who does that to a certain extent.
I'm not totally against her, but she can spare me descriptions of his "gentle" smile and perhaps tone it down a bit.

This is what puzzles me; why don't they understand he was doing his job as presidential counsel? Most of these Senators are lawyers and SHOULD know this
