The teachers guide was removed.

Saying parents should know.

James Dobson saying he expect Pres. Bush will follow through.

IF Bush backs down it will just be a bad strategy. Nobody gets re-elected by reniging.

It's CARTOON. Cripes. This is up there with Falwell whining about Tinky-Winky carrying a pocketbook.

Kind of a moot point now isn't it?

Sponge Bob has a sexual preference?

He's about as asexual as a loaf of bread.

pres. bush doesn't have enough on his plate?

what does dobson want him to do? and if sponge bob is #1 on dobson's priority list he's either a very lucky man (nothing else to worry about) or he should seek some help.....and fast. his unhealthy fixation with cartoons is downright bizarre.

Dobson NEVER said the cartoon character was a homosexual.

What Dobson referered to was the FACT that the WAFF had used chilren's characters to soften the image of homosexual conduct.

The WAFF has a teachers manual directing teachers to USE the cartoon characters to "challenge" children to rethink what they personal sexual orientation will be.

The materials were sanitized off the website of WAFF HOWEVER many here at FR have preserved it so the homo-advocates can run but they can not hide.

I remmember an article on Yahoo! news that surmised that Tinky Winky was "gay" long before the Falwell debacle. Apparently, it was "cute" that he was gay until a right wing Christian commented on it...

Falwell?

The business about that particular character being gay was reported initially by the Washington Post.

All Falwell's people did was read the guy's article as it appeared there.

Look, real quick, run a Level 6 diagnostic on your ciruits to see why you remember it differently.

Here's an article to help you keep the whole thing straight http://slate.msn.com/id/20251/#ContinueArticle .

At time, passing the FMA is impossible. 67 votes are needed and the first time it was 48-50 and I'd guess it would be 52-48 in the new Senate. To pass the amendment, you'd need every Republican and most of the Red State Democrats.

Never say never, up until 2004 it would not have even reached the amendmence debate stage.

In 1996 the Fed DOMA was passed to avoid the passage of a marriage amendment. Senators were running from voting on the record. Many voted to pass the DOMA in order to be on the record voting for something they were against, hoping the courts will knock it down. (under the law they will)

The current senators are just stuck on waiting for that overturn to be forced to approve the FMA. In 2006 we have more state DMA comming online, including Mass.'s. I fully expect this issue POSSIBLY be a 2008 campaign issue.

No it isn't. I saw the PDF pages with the instructions to the teachers and it was definitely a homosexual agenda.

The left is using Sponge Bob as a way of distracting from the real issue .. the teaching documents which went along with the cartoon video.

Bill O'Reilly had the owner of the website on his program (re the video), and the guy denied there was any teaching program - however, somebody from FR had saved the PDF files (which have now disappeared), so even when Bill checked the guy's website - there was no documentation there to prove Dr. Dobson's point. The guy had removed the documents and was smirking all over the TV that there was nothing to it - and of course Bill was agreeing with him because Bill couldn't find the stuff there either.

However, there were links to the PDF documents showing that the teaching program to go along with the video were SPECIFICALLY GEARED TOWARD TEACHING THE CHILDREN THAT THE HOMOSEXUAL LIFESTYLE IS GOOD AND CHILDREN SHOULD ACCEPT IT AS BEING NORMAL. They used leading questions and projected shame upon the child if they did not accept this type of lifestyle.
