Recent communications between Usama bin Laden and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi indicated that bin Laden has "encouraged Zarqawi and his group to focus on attacks inside the United State, multiple U.S. officials told FOX News on Monday.

This has the potential to be significant. Last weekend AQ #2 Al-Zarwhari had a new video on Al-Jazera, and we are in a 60-day watch window based upon that threat. OPINION-SPECULATION: UBL and ZARQAWI most likely cannot get in to the United States right now; however is this message a "GO" signal? I don't know. Time will tell.

This has the potential to be significant.

OTOH, it could be an indicator of a weakening of the OBL organization in it's ability to strike unilaterally inside our borders due to a lot of direct pressure being brought to bear on him in his hiding places by both Pakistan and US forces. Since OBL can't direct a strike he's outsourcing it to an AQ affiliate in Iraq. That's IMHO another gamble because Zarqawi himself may be on the dodge and in danger of being taken.
