It is now 3 am in Iraq the polls will be opening in the next few hours as the world watches and hold's it breath. Iraq is about to undertake a historic vote.

Lets wish them well....... please post all comments and election photos to this thread.

FNC had a report just a moment ago that mentioned about 25,000 voters so far in southern Iraq and many more that expected in the Khurdish regions. No solid word about the Sunni areas yet but the indications are positive.

Exactly. No normal people are driving about -- only a terrorist would be driving around. One terrorist among a thousand normal people driving their cars is likely to be missed. A terrorist driving the only car on the road will be spotted and eliminated very quickly, before he can do any damage. This has forced the terrorists to use less efficient means of mayhem. The ban on driving cars on election day was a brilliant move.

Is this a test to see if a suicide bomber can escape being searched when dressed in this manner? Who and what is that? I have not noticed any other Iraqi dressed like that. Is that an Iraqi?
