I can understand. But he must realize at some deeper level that before he could vote, an invasion had to take place.

There was a beautiful picture in today's Washington Times of a group of Americans on their knees praying in front of the Iraqi embassy here in DC for a peaceful election.

Our church has an interim pastor who is also a career military chaplain. Last Sunday he told us that one of his fellow military officers emailed him from Iraq and asked that he have his congregation pray for his men because they were the group (sorry guys, I don't know the proper military terminology) who were scheduled to deliver the voting machines and were thus targets. All week I've been listening for news and so far haven't heard that the soldiers delivering the voting machines were hit. Prayer works (of course).

By the way, I sent a link to this thread to a friend of mine who is a WW II P-38 Ace, living in Texas (hi Kirby!). He turned around and sent it to his very large email list.

Everyone wave hello to Kirby's friends!

The worst efforts of the Left can't hide the joy in those smiles...

Thanking God.

Iraqi citizens voted yesterday in the only regional voting center in the Northeastern US in New Carrolton, MD.

I bet the site of all those people lining up to vote in Syria, Iran, UAE, etc. are making some folks over there very nervous.

What if their OWN people start expecting such a privilege?

Editorial comment: Seeing all these people weeping because they are voting makes me ashamed of how I cast my ballot without a thought to the men and women who died to secure the right for me.

Bush is a Big Picture guy living among spiritual midgets.

Perfectly said, Darkwolf!

Why can't we have ink to stain our fingers and prevent multi-voting?

Prayer works (of course).

It does. I wonder if the Iraqis know how many of us (Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox) there are in the US busy praying for them?

Ping to Salvation to come see a beautiful thread.

"Please do something about instead of just complaining about the press."

I'm in no position to write about the election in Iraq. That others do it poorly doesn't mean I should, too.

I join you in your salute to our fallen, wounded, serving, all who served, and their families. You are not alone in crying your eyes out tonight... (Just think, I am known as a tough cookie who used to threathen to "kill" anyone who saw me crying.)

I love those Kurdish getups. For some reason I am reminded of Scottish bagpipers. Perhaps it's because the men still manage to look quite masculine even in 'frilly' attire.

Lessee, and where are all those Freepers who said that Muslims cannot handle democracy?

BTW, try looking at these pictures while listening to Mark Schultz's phenomenal song, "Letters from War."

Excuse me for being crude, but someone should take a picture of blue ink on a middle finger, with the caption:

This is for you, Saddam, France, the UN and the Democrats!!
