What's up with Christine Todd Whitman? (vanity)
Foxnews-wikimedia-crushelits ^ | Jan. 28, 2005 | crushelits

She released a book entitled It's My Party, Too: Taking Back the Republican Party... And Bringing the Country Together Again in which she criticizes the policies of the Bush administration and its electoral strategy which she views as divisive. It has been suggested that this may be a prelude to a candidacy for president in 2008 as a moderate Republican.

She's been going around several talk shows including Hannity & Colmes criticizing the President Bush.

This is a partial transcript from "Hannity & Colmes," Jan. 27, 2005, that has been edited for clarity.

SEAN HANNITY, CO-HOST:  Our next guest thinks that the Republican Party is in danger of moving too far to the right and losing the centrist vote that was critical in helping them win the White House in 2004.

Joining us now is the former New Jersey governor, and author of the brand-new book, "It's My Party, Too: The Battle for the Heart of the GOP and the Future of America," Governor Christine Todd Whitman.

GOVERNOR CHRISTINE TODD WHITMAN (R), FORMER EPA ADMINISTRATOR.

HANNITY: Good to see you. You know, I read this cover-to-cover.

WHITMAN: Well, thank you.

HANNITY: It made me mad in many ways.

WHITMAN: Oh, that's OK.

HANNITY: But you know what? I've always been a fan of yours.

WHITMAN: Well, thank you.

HANNITY: I've always known -- I'm a fan of Rudy's, I'm a fan of Governor Schwarzenegger. I am pro-life. I disagree with you on most social issues. But I love what you did with taxes.

She's a socialite, a country clubber. She's always been that way.

All the Far Hills types I know in New Jersey favored Kerry in the last election, because they're snobs, and Kerry was the snob candidate.

Bush has the common touch, and that's something they will never understand. It makes them uncomfortable.

Another RINO that believes that the Republican Party needs to move to the Right and mitigate it's Conservative tendencies.
People like Whitman make me sick. She can take all the moderates and go over to the Democrats if that is how she feels.
We have been winning elections based on Conservatism not based on being wishy washy Moderates.
She can just go to Blazes and take the rest of the RINO's with her.

Her smash mouthing of Bush as a right wing hard liner makes her candidacy move from a very long short to Quixotic. Her case about Bush is at once tendentious and unpersuasive, and not calculated to win any GOP voters of those that admire Bush, which makes fashioning a majority for her rather difficult, unless the Bush agenda become totally discredited with the voters, in which case, she still is out of the money.

The old story, a woman scorned. Very disappointing.

What would these idiot rino's think if we had a real conservative in Office? Like a Freeper. The only conservative that has ripped into her is Ann Coulter, but she will not name names.

But I love what you did with taxes.

Isn't she famous for "cutting taxes," then creatively passing on New Jersey's bills to the federal system, then raising taxes right after the beginning of her second term? Socialist lite. Figures that Hannity loves it.

I saw some morning network TV show do a segment on wether the GOP has become too conservative and I had to laugh.

Anyone else out there see the RINOs in Ahhhnold, Rudy, Mccain, Specter et al and the national GOP supporting them over real conservatives?

Someone wake me when someone with an (R) next to their name wants to stop illegal immigration, overturn Roe vs Wade, disband the Education department, or actually cut spending.

Its really funny living in Maryland and hearing dems whine about our "conservative" governor...ROTFLMAO

What's up with Christine Todd Whitman?

Is this a trick question? She's an air headed liberal.

I have been seeing her and her smarmy smirk all over the tube touting her book and trashing the Republican Party. IMO another sore loser who didn't get what she wanted and now wants to extract her disgruntled revenge.

Well, this is very interesting. We had the Year of the Woman. Women were celebrated, bright and opptimistic. Ready to take the world and shake it up.

Now we have dreary Muareen Dowd, sour and drab.

Peggy Noonan is griping about too much freedom talk.

Barbara Boxer is scowling and miserable.

Nancy Pelosi is worried that Botox and cosmetic surgery may be taxed.

And, to top it off Hillary Clinton is moving her queenship to the center.

And, Todd-Whitman lost her poor little sheeple.

I saw the Whitman interview on H & C.........

She specifically slammed those of us who opposed Arlen Specter.

PING to General Havoc and Badray.

Sour grapes?

She has ALWAYS been a social liberal and her "fiscal conservativeness" was more like the shell game. She's really a RHINO feeling left out and miffed about it.

Haven't heard much from Paul O'Neill since his bitchy book. It will be the same from Whitman. It is her political obitiary.
