I pity his father who has been trying desperately to get him a life sentence but there are 8 fathers who wonder every day about their daughters' last desperate moments. This scum is a virus who should see what he gets as a mercy.

Perhaps, Ross will recieve justice. Unless some criminal- loving liberal can figure out a new way to thwart the law.

"The only thing preventing the execution now is Ross himself. He could halt his execution any time up to the moment before the drugs are administered.

Huh..... ???

He's just Damn lucky he's NOT here in TEXAS. This would have been over a long time ago, WE have an "express lane" over at Huntsville. Justice is averaged TWICE a month out here.

The only thing preventing the execution now is Ross himself. He could halt his execution any time up to the moment before the drugs are administered.

How does this work ? I don't get it.

He could change his mind at any time up to 2:00 a.m. and the appeal process would go forward. But he wants to die - I think he is tired of living in a small, isolated cell - and he says he wants to bring closure to his victims' families.

All this recent appeal activity in the state has been brought on by others - friends of the court, religious groups, his dad, etc.

Up to now, he's waived all his appeals, as I understand it. I guess the author is saying he could change his mind up until the end, and ask to have an appeal made in his name. I guess this would trigger new multi-year delays.

...he says he wants to bring closure to his victims' families.

That reminds me of a line from Macbeth:

Nothing in his Life became him,
Like the leaving it.
