Capaldi, left, and Winwood are inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

Darn. I still have the original vinyl of "Welcome to the Canteen" and MP3s from it. R.I.P., Jim, you made long journeys tolerable.

That's truly sad to hear. Traffic is one of my favorite bands. Their fusion of rock, pop, and jazz was quite unique.

This is sad news, another rock icon from my younger days passes. The "Red House" album was one that I wore out in my early college days.

Capaldi's first solo LP was terrific, his more recent one less so!

Traffic will never be forgotten just for the first side of "John Barleycorn Must Die" alone:

1. Glad
2. Freedom Rider
3. Empty Pages

RIP, Jim Capaldi.

Their "Dear Mr. Fantasy" album was so fresh, trippy and different when it came out. It created a huge ripple. The UK editon had two more tunes IIRC.

Sorry he's gone, but I never found him to be a particularly good drummer. Nowhere near Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Carmine Appice, or Billy Cobham.

I'm afraid of that pancreatic cancer... but stomache cancer must be pretty bad too.

I always stopped and listened when "Low Spark of High Heel Boys" was played on the radio. All 11 minutes of it. One time I saw Traffic and Winwood looked utterly stoned to the gills on some psychedelic. They put on a great show as a trio, Dave Mason was not there.

Glad to see he was able to see his Musical Talent in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
