...explaining it to your future husband might be a little difficult.
Are you kidding? Most guys would want his wife to introduce him to the former girlfriend and to invite her over.

"I wouldn't let my kid buy one of the yearbooks. If someone gave her one, she'd be expected to return it to them and she would know that she shouldn't sign her name in one unless the deviant stuff had been removed first."
Seems like overkill to me, frankly. A picture of two girls is hardly likely to destroy your daughter's moral values. It's a silly thing. That's all.

Amen. John Adams summed it up well in that speech of so long ago..
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.
That truth, irrespective of changing times, attitudes and mores...is just as true now as regards fundamental principles (as it was then. And marriage and the nuclear family and the life styles that lead to them must be considered as about as fundamental as it gets for society.

Salt Lake city is largely conservative. this might help explain my teenage shock theory.

We set a legal drinking age because people below that age, on average, do not understand the potential ramifications of their actions and are likely not to accept personal responsibilty. It also removes alcohol as an alternative solution to problems, forcing those underage to mature, face reality, and deal with life.
The same should hold true when choosing one's sexual identity. There's no way that the average 18-year-old "knows" she's a lesbian. Hell, she doesn't even know what she's going to major in college.
How about, "You must be 25 to publicly declare or otherwise publicly demonstrate your abnormal sexual preference."
(Even then, that's no guarantee. Anne Heche comes to mind.)

We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Likewise, human passions that bridle morality and religion unleash another beast. I, too, am in awe of the wisdom and truth in this statement by John Adams. Our Constitution and the moral fiber of our country are what have made our Republic great. If we are to keep it (our Republic), it is imperative to adhere to the basic principles which established it.
Considedring what the Bible says it will be like in the end times, I often wonder how society will go down that road of immorality. How can society as a whole get so messed up collectively?
