>Homophobes need to settle down, and stop worrying about >the fact that *gasp!* there are homosexuals in the world, >and children may discover this!
I agree. My dad's best friend's brother is/was gay (he's passed away now) and he and his boyfriend (who I thought was just his friend) babysat me while my dad worked on the weekends he had me. I never knew anything about gay or sex. It was about these really cool fun guys who made homemade pizza with me, watched Solid Gold and taught me to play penny poker. Oh yeah and gave horsey rides (which were totally nonsexual, so no wisecracks). Gay wasn't even in the conversation, although I knew they were different somehow.
Guess what people, you are fighting a sinking ship if you think that gay people are going to just dissapear. I'm not saying you have to condone homosexuality. Unless you live in a bubble, your children will be exposed to plenty of lifestyles you might not want them to be. That is where your parental education comes in.
I know you have been asked before, but here it goes again - Are you a Troll? Sorry - but there is just something about your posts that point that way.
Arthur isn't too bad and I'm pretty picky.
I didn't have to get too many Postcards from Buster to realize it was crap. :-)
If your daughter-in-law has any amount of discernment, I bet she'll figure it out on her own.

I have a 4 year old daughter that watches almost exclusively the Boomerang network. It's all the great cartoons we grew up with: The Jetsons, The Flintstones, Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo, the Banana Splits, etc. She prefers it to Nickelodeon and the Disney Channels, and it's great for me because I can let her watch it without worrying about the content. Tell your daughter-in-law to see if her cable/satellite provider has it as part of their programming. I have it through DirecTV. Another great inventions for parents, TiVO. TiVo programs that you approve of, and when your kid wants to watch TV, they can watch the programs you've recorded.
My biggest problem as a parent is contending with parents who are not as strict as I am about viewing habits.
Absolutely... any mention of homosexuals cause these people to go into a rage. And especially if it is mentioned to children. This only promotes homophobia.
Guess what people, your kids are calling other kids "fag" on the playground before they even leave kindergarten. They are already exposed to this... you might as well take responsibility and educate them properly.
The fact that you speak in generalities says volumes about you.
What in the world in my posts points that way? Have you read the things I have written?
Thanks. I'll check into it. I always made my kids play outside in the yard, but I could still count on some TV on rainy days, etc. These days it's constant vigilance.

Some parents only allow their children to watch children's shows. And when homosexuality is being promoted on Public broadcasting aimed at children, well parents have a right to speak out.

The idea that if someone does not approve of homosexuality or the homosexual agenda for any reason is therefore afraid of it is CBS. And I don't mean Columbia Broadcasting System.
I always hate when they try to shed gays in the same light as blacks or latinos. The difference is that in the case of blacks or latinos, they are defined by their characteristics, whereas gays are defined by their behavior. Big difference.
I saw that commercial too. I was really embarrassed. I made a mental note not to buy Dentyne gum.
TGOFP--here's an article about the PBS show.
It was embarrassing and I am glad my child had just left the room. She was sick and couldn't get to sleep. They assume that if they show it at acertain time of evening there will be no children up to see it, but that is not always the case.

Hmm. I wonder who the editorial board thinks Buster should meet next week. Child molesters? Adulterers? Flashers? Masturbaters? Prostitutes? Swingers? Polygamists? Fornicators? How about we introduce them to the real life criminal set too. Charles Manson is still alive.
