I too have been interested in Dulce. And the story. I first found it to be so outrageous that I just discounted it outright.

But then something happened. Dulce and the related stories are the only pieces of the puzzle that ties all sort of unusual and strange events together. And I mean many kinds...of different events. Such as Fortean events. Go HERE.IF the Dulce story is mostly based on fact, then many of the anomalous and unexplained events fall into place. If you take the time to read the UFO reports, you will find that certain spaceships are connected with certain kinds of aliens, while others have english-speaking human occupants.

Contrary to what the mainstream media would lead you to believe, the presence of UFO's is so widespread that you have to have an absolutely closed mind not to believe in them. I didn't, I thought that it was all hokey nonsense. That is until I just started to read the reports.

Here we live on a planet. With millions of different species of life. One of which we recognize as intelligent - that is HUMAN. Yet, at the same time, we have the shear arrogance to say that we are alone in this universe. Why right in front of our very eyes is a planet full of different life and species.

Not only is our universe huge. But it is old. As a matter of fact, our sun was formed from the decay products of an earlier star. One which lived for billions and billions of years. But wait, it is even older than that! That star, itself was formed from the decay products of yet an even earlier star.

I think that many people can't get the scale and perspective on how big our universe is, and how long the time period is. The best tool that I can use to illustrate the immense size of our universe is at this web site. When viewing the website...remember, each view is shrunk into the size of a dot in the subsequent view. Go HERE.

Most people who come out and discuss the Dulce Facility are killed. They are either tortured and found in a really bad state...dead, or they just disappear. A Design Engineer for underground structures came out in the mid 1990's to discuss this activity. His name was Phil Schneider. He was found murdered.

Others have since come out. One, a physist by the name of Bob Lazar, came out. (Hint: Google seach for "Paul E. Potter") He stated that he was involved in the reverse engineering of UFO propulsion systems. He was lucky. He decided to use the power of the internet to spread his story, and that with radio and tv interviews, made it very difficult to have him killed. But insead of death, he became a non-person. However, suddenly all records of him ever existing had dissapeared. He was painted as a liar and a idiot.

Well, after that, a number of others started to come out. One was a microbiologist. He was smart. He decided that he didn't want to die, and he didn't want to become a non-person. So, following the Bob Laar route, he became public and then went into hiding, but when he went into hiding he took along verifyable documentation that proves who he is. His name is Dr. Dan Burisch He spent much of his research on the alien biological structure and that means...more than just one alien species -folks!

Another man who has come out is from right at the very top. Dr. Michael Wolf Nastional Security Council Special Studies Group.

The first Security Officer to say anything is Thomas Edwin Castello. He is believed alive, and in hiding.

A pilot who flew people to and from the facilities, as well as participated in test filights of various craft is a man by the name of John Lear. He as a very interesting take on the entire event and goings on down at Dulce.

There is Richard Shaver who seems to be a crackpot is who is capitalizing on all this. I think that he is just muddying up the waters. And confusing things and perhaps spreading some of the already confused disinformation about.

It is very difficult to find anything in ENGLISH on Richard Souder. He was a major player in the construction of underground tunnels and bases in the USA. He disappeared, and websites that list him are usually in a different language. For some reason.

There is Michael Riconosciuto who was a security contractor at Dulce. He was an IT specialist. This firm; Wackenhut handles a large portion of the security measures near and around the tunnels. He is now JAILED.

Joseph Daniel 'Danny' Casolano was an investigative reporter. He was investigating the Dulce base and related Black Projects when he was found dead. His notes and manuscript missing.

Then there is a "contactee" who is playing the role of mediator between the US Government; the Human population and the people at Dulce. His name is Jefferson Souza. At this stage, anything is possible (I throw up my hands in the air...).

Lets see...Dr. John F. Gille a French National. Dr. Gille has a PhD in Math/Physics from the University of Paris. He had worked very closely with the French Government on the UFO phenomena in that country. He is currently investigating the Dulce facility.

James Oberth was an intelligence Officer with the Pacific Command. He has some very interesting things to say about the Dulce Projects. He has disappeared. Location unknown.

Here is an FBI Special Agent. He has some experience in the Dulce complex. His code name is JORDON.

There is Bill English, a Green Beret Commander who has experience at Dulce and a conflict that occured there in the 1970's.

This fellow is busy investigating the Dulce Complex: Sean David Morton.

Hi, RA! . . . Very interesting. Thanks for the ping!

Apart from your point about modulation, I seem to remember one of my old astronomy professors (only had two of 'em, lol) telling us way back in the 70s that any extraterrestrial observers studying the Sun would have observed a several-orders-of-magnitude increase in radio emissions "coming from the Sun in the last 40 or 50 years" (due to the invention of radio and tv) and from that fact alone they could [perhaps] infer that a nascent technological civilization lived here since no known natural phenomenon can cause such an increase.

So . . . Based on that, can't we just look at main sequence G2 stars, for instance, and say, "Wow, that star over there is impossibly bright in radio wavelengths for a G2 and, therefore, there must be a technologically advanced civilization there?"

The other problem is that ultra-wide band communications are much more efficient, so much so that human communications have been moving toward them for years. If you do a narrow-band search, you aren't going to find much with efficiently coded communications. That many human signals are so easily detectable is a testament to our inefficient communication technology.

I agree.

More and more we are turning to both digital cable and frequency hopping spread spectrum digital RF. It may hold true that high power RF is a very short-lived phenomena in any technological evolutionary ladder. If that is the case, SETI may be futile even if there are thousands of races right here on our doorstep.

All that said, there is another factor in this conjecture. A race is progressing along and figures out that the electromagnetic spectrum is the only real practical method of long-range communications. So high-powered transmitters are built as this technology is in its infancy. As the engineering and science of radio advances, they figure out that tight beam, spread spectrum, synthetic aperture, frequency hopping, etc. are a way of not only saving power, but also bandwidth. So for the first 50 years they have been "bleeding" EM into space across a huge range of frequencies into and ever-increasing sphere of radio noise. However, do to technological advances, this RF that is being bled into space quiets down dramatically.

Now, lets jump a few years. This race has expanded off its initial planet and is exploring the solar system it resides in. (IMHO, star travel still remains firmly in the realm of SiFi) Somehow they have to communicate. So again high power transmitters are employed to accomplish this. Light is not out of the question, however, microwave is easy, cheap, less pointing accuracy requirements, and wont be drowned out by the star. So suddenly this race again is radiating RF into the universe. So according to this scenario, a race can emit RF then grow silent for a time, and then restart emitting RF.

Looking back at the lives of some of the great authors, and the fact that many of them went out of print quickly, I've decided that Asimov probably got many of them a bit of money and recognition they would have missed without his support.

I think you are spot on here. :-)

The story you're thinking of is "First Contact" by Murray Leinster. Hal Clement and Chad Oliver also did some good stories on the problem of interspecies communication.

Thanks!!! :-) I have it, just didn't have the time to dig thru 6000 books! LOL!

IMHO, the geometry (Pi, etc.) would the first Rosetta Stone because it would be the easiest to communicate.

In all honesty, I don't see us having a dialog with ET. It would be enough just to know we were not the only tool building species out there. :-)

I sent RA an email about this, but he hasn't responded yet.

Sigh! I have been terrible with freepmail lately. :-(

Have either of you read His Master's Voice? Opinion? I am reading it right now.

Not yet but it is on my list!

At certain frequencies we are very "bright". Due to the signal to noise ratio and knowing a narrowband carrier is most likely non-natural, I think the multichannel narrowband search is the way to go.

Humor columnist Dave Barry (IIRC in the compilation Dave Barry Talks Back?) has a piece entitled "Bring Back Carl's Plaque" talking about just this topic. The plaque is Carl Sagan's plaque which shows a naked man and woman and a hydrogen atom. He assumes that the intergalactic alien police have seen the plaque and decided that the humans are despicable perverts. In his estimation, it is only the presence of I Love Lucy re-runs which have kept the aliens from vaporizing us. :-)

Cheers!

A couple of points on your article: Since that time, we have located two other secret facilities. One is at a place in the Mojave-Desert called Llano. It is an extremely secure facility, but witnesses have seen an extremely bright light burning atop a pylon inside of a movable behemoth- sized structure.

Llano is about 30 miles from where I live. There is no such structure in Llano nor much of anything else but remnants of a resort, gone 80 years, a post office and a some houses scattered along Hwy 138 and up into the backsides of the San Gabriel Mtn.'s.

Informants have mentioned underground tunnels and facilities in California at Edwards AFB.....Norton AFB, and Morongo Valley......

Norton is gone, but would have been a really poor candidate for underground anything. It is sitting in a rocky, alluvial fan of gravel and boulders, located at the junction of several mountain drainages and with a water table that would require constant pumping of facilities of this nature. the north edge of the base is the San Andreas fault and the San Jacinto fault line (and others) run through the property. If these ever were here, they have mysteriously disappeared now that the base belongs to the city of San Bernardino. Morongo Valley is another highly unlikely location. Morongo Valley is small, narrow, and thoroughly populated. It also sits astride, and is created by, the Pinto Mtn. fault. It would be more likely that something of this nature would be out on 29 Palms Marine base as it is HUGE and very few people get in there. As for Edwards, no chance. I'd know (that is all I am saying on that base). http://quake.wr.usgs.gov/recenteqs/FaultMaps/117-34.htm When one starts finding glaring holes like this, obviously the rest of the article appears equally flawed.

The Good Doctor was heavily influenced by Campbell, who was the father of modern SF.

IA helped keep good story writing in SF and maintained Campbell's standards -- thank goodness.

Unlike ancient Mayans and Egyptians, we can reasonably infer that any aliens we might be communicating with will have adopted the logic of circuit design. That common engineering logic would be necessary for them to receive our signal. If that basic logic is shared we have some chance of being understood and understanding them. The real import of their message will simply be that they are there.
