Police, FBI Join Investigation Into Possible Election Fraud (Milwaukee)
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ^ | 1/27/05 | Greg Borowski

Posted on 01/27/2005 8:42:13 AM PST by Kryptonite

Citing a Journal Sentinel review that found more than 1,200 votes cast from invalid addresses in Milwaukee, local and federal law enforcement officials launched a joint investigation Wednesday into potential voter fraud in the Nov. 2 election.

Milwaukee County District Attorney E. Michael McCann said he and U.S. Attorney Steven Biskupic agreed to investigate potential problems together. The effort will also include the Milwaukee Police Department and the local office of the FBI.

McCann told the newspaper the group of prosecutors and investigators, including one with computer expertise, will try to "see if there was voter fraud or not. That's the major thrust."

. . .

The group will have access to original documents and materials the newspaper has not been able to see. There is no specified timetable for completing the review.

The joint approach may minimize partisan criticism of its results. McCann is a Democrat. Biskupic was appointed to his post by a Republican.

. . .

Problems pile up

Meanwhile, a separate state audit that is to include a focus on Milwaukee's election problems could be put into place as early as today. Those problems ranged from registration cards that weren't processed before the election to absentee ballots that were not counted until weeks after the election.

And a new Journal Sentinel review of the city's voting records shows the system is so flawed that more than 300 people are listed as voting twice from the same address, even though each apparently was given only one ballot.

That increases the size of a gap, already at more than 8,300, between the number of ballots cast and the number of people who can be identified as voting in the presidential election, which in Wisconsin was determined by about 11,000 votes.

Barbara Boxer is Deeply Saddened.

"Who cares about verifiable fraud in Wisconsin? [snif!] Why won't they investigate the complete lack of credible evidence of fraud in OHIO?"

In related news, former Senator Tom (Puff) Dachle is deeply soddened that there wasn't as much fraud in South Dakota as there was in Milwaukee and Racine.

What are the chances of the AP, Reuters, or CBS picking up this story?

With respect to Reuters and C-BS (I'll throw in NBC, ABC and CNN), I'll say buy a lottery ticket; you've got a better chance of winning the jackpot. Add AP and getting 3 of 6 numbers is about the same odds.

This week, the newspaper reported finding that more than 1,200 votes Nov. 2 came from invalid addresses, with nearly 75% of those coming from people who registered at the polls. Of those, a sample showed about 20% could be explained by data entry errors, such as transposed digits.

In addition, the newspaper found that 186 votes from invalid addresses were among about 5,600 addresses challenged before the election by the state Republican Party as non-existent.

Doubtful. Everyone knows most of the fraud is perpetrated by rats and they're going to hiss 'n howl their heads off.

It is time for citizens in Wisconsin and Wasshington and ? to start posting rewards for valid information to voter fraud.

A few $10,000 rewards based on arrest and conviction of those involved in voter fraud might stop this bs in future elections.

The trick in Wisconsin is finding a federal "hook". Former Journal Sentinel reporter Jessica McBride has a lengthy list of voter fraud cases Milwaukee DA E. Michael McCann (DemonRAT) has softpedaled and plea-bargained into nothing. Further, DemonRATs have controlled the attorney general's office for quite a while (indeed, the current AG, Keg Goldschlag...er, Peggy Lautenschlager, of DUI in a state car fame, owes her win in 2002 to vote fraud).
