WWII GI's Remains Come Home for Burial

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Pvt. Odell Sharpe, killed during World War II, is finally coming home.

The remains of Sharpe — presumed slain on Christmas Day 1944 when he as only 19 — were recently identified from a skeleton found in a foxhole near the Belgian-German border. . . .

I salute this fallen soldier, and I rejoice for his family who finally has some closure and some answers about him. Praise God! May the good work of the POW/MIA office continue until all are brought home.

we're very, very proud we can finally put him where he belongs, and he's not way over in another country in a hole by himself.

A reminder that we owe all we have to brave young men who gave more than most of us can ever imagine. God bless Pvt. Odell Sharpe and his family.
