'Unfit' Author Corsi to Run vs. Kerry

The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth are credited with bringing John Kerry's real Vietnam war record to light, and now one of the authors of Unfit for Command, Jerome Corsi, says he's going to move to the Back Bay so he can challenge Sen. Kerry for his seat in Congress.

"I'm going to do it," said Corsi. "I've got serious political aspirations now."

Corsi, 58, is not a veteran, but he co-authored the book (that NewsMax helped to make a bestseller) with John O'Neill, that, along with the TV ads from the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, helped expose the real John Kerry to millions of voters.

Now, Corsi hopes to get some of those voters in one of the nation's most liberal states on his side.

"It may be time for a conservative movement to take hold in Massachusetts," Corsi said.

A managing partner in the U.S. Financial Marketing Group, Corsi - who got his PhD from Harvard, a hop skip and a jump from Boston, will sell his part of the company and devote his time to a political career.

He wants to run as a Republican, but told the Boston Herald that if he doesn't get financial backing from the Grand Old Party, he'll just run as an Independent.

And, he says he'll run even if Kerry doesn't.

Corsi is a bit of a controversial figure, even without his Kerry book. Corsi has posted comments on the FreeRepublic website where he reportedly called Islam "a cancer that destroys the body it infects," and called the pope "senile," all of which he claims were meant to be satirical.

The chair of the Mass. Democratic Party Phil Johnston was not amused, or enthused. "I know Massachusetts will not welcome a candidate whose calling card is a disturbing track record of slandering Catholics, the pope, Jews and Vietnam veterans. Carpetbaggers spreading lies and smears are not welcome in our state," he told the Herald.

Kerry's spokespeople had no comment, saying Kerry was too busy with his work in the Senate ... which we can understand. He must have a lot to catch up on, since he essentially took the last two years off to run for president.

Have you seen ALL the evidence as to Kerry's guilt or innocence re TREASON? I didn't think so....let's get it to trial and then we will be able to see all evidence pro & con.

Believe me... Corsi will never be a factor concerning John Kerry's re-election.

Poetic justice. Isn't amazing that Skerry is too busy working?

To repeat: making John Kerry's life more miserable is worth it.

As soon as you muster the 2 people who witnessed the same overt act, and will testify to it, let me know.

Since we know he did not levy war against the US, I guess you're holding out hope for the "adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." Good luck to you.

Thanks for the ping. I doubt that he will be supported by the Pubs or elected by the people of Taxachusetts, but his campaign will stirr up a lot of interesting controversy and further reveal the Dims for what they are.

Great news! I suspect that he may surprise some libs with the outcome, particularly if he goes balls to the walls with his DD214 demands.

Two votes he can count on coming out of this household!

Well, Dr. Corsi is a fine man, but I really wish he would not have done this. It actually casts a pall over the book. It loses validity.

One of the validating points of the book, was the fact that these two men had no ambitions for themselves...and no other motive than to tell the truth against Kerry's lies.

Now, Corsi reveals that he actually had political ambitions against the man he maligned!

I hate to say it, but this move helps Kerry. If Kerry and his supporters can discredit the Swifties, they have a shot at the White House.

I am not happy about this at all.

He may be "not guilty" by legal definition, but he knows he is guilty. That is why he won't release his military records. He will probably never be charged or tried, but one can hope!

First you have to drown a campaign worker, or shoot an unarmed Viet Cong in the back- then you can be elected Senator in Massachusetts

Can't you see that announcing his political ambitions, just discredited Corsi? It discredits the book! The book will now be legitimately disreagarded at a Republican political ploy to promote the political ambitions of Dr. Corsi!

I wonder how John O'neil feels about this?

My guess is that John O'neill will contribute to Corsi's campaign. As will I.

Kerry may try another Pres. bid in 08 and give up Senate seat. Who's going against Kennedy in 06? That's the real target.
