To: MississippiMasterpiece
"Maria Full of Grace" was, to my mind, little better than a graduate student film. The story was full of holes, the acting and direction uninspired and the theme was a celebration of moral relativism. Production values were C+ at best.

Art-house afficianados climbed all over it because it showed a segment of the human experience that impacts us (illegal immigration and life in the countries from which people flee) but that we cannot experience personally. I'm glad to see film coming out of any unfamiliar corner but I was disappointed and less than impressed by this one.

I found it pretty gripping. It's a case of not trying to do too much...but achieving everything you set out to do.
