 FReeper Canteen: What's Your Favorite Recipe? Come Share With Us!

 

Here's the topic for today:

What is your favorite recipe?

The weather has been downright awful for most of us. The best thing to do is think about food. And let's not forget we have Troops that are lurking. How about sharing something from your kitchen or family that you enjoy?

We absolutely need pictures if you've got them!!
Remember, someone else might want to try it.
If you happen to find a recipe that you end up using, come back and tell us about it.

Here's an example:

 

"Cookin With Ms.B"
Mustard Fried catfish

6 cleaned Catfish Fillets
Vegatable oil
2 cups prepared yellow mustard
3 eggs well beaten
1 tsp Tabasco sauce
1 cup corn flour or finely ground Cornmeal
1 cup yellow corn meal
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
2 tsp salt
1tsp garlic powder
1 tsp. freshly ground back pepper
1 tsp Hungarian Paprika
Pat catfish dry wirh paper towels
Heat oil in 12 inch skillet..
In a bowl, combine mustard, eggs and Tabasco sauce.
Combine all remaining ingredients in another bowl.
Dredge catfish in mustard mixture, coat well.
Dip fish in cornmeal mixture.
Place fish in hot oil,fry until golden brown and crispy.
(About 6-7 minutes each side.)
Drain well on paper towels..
Serve hot with lemon wedges...

If you have a different take on someone's recipe, share it with us. Most folks can make the same things, but change the ingredients a bit.

God's Delight

A Scottish preacher spoke of evangelism as a fellowship of reconciled, forgiven sinners who don't simply preach but live out their faith. They also offer to others the same reconciliation and forgiveness they have received from God.

The apostle Paul expressed the same conviction: "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief" (1 Timothy 1:15). Once a blasphemer and persecutor of Christians, Paul believed that God's mercy was shown to him, the worst of sinners, as an example to other sinners who would later believe on Christ (v.16).

Whenever we testify that God has forgiven us and provided eternal life through faith in Christ, we're declaring that God is a saving God. Yet, when we observe destructive lifestyles among people, it's easy to write them off. Instead, we should look at them as Christ does. "When He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them" (Matthew 9:36).

Jesus said He came not to condemn the world but to save it (John 3:17). Rather than condemning people, we should say, "Who am I to condemn others, when God has forgiven me so generously?" God delights to use forgiven sinners to reach other sinners. —Joanie Yoder

The Canteen Slacker shall remain nameless for security reasons.
We hear that he/she is wanted by the Homeland Security department.
Something about changing the color codes to include various purple colors to the alert system.
We have even heard their is a Barney The Purple Dinosaur alert. This alert notifies you when
a dangerous person is visiting the country. Who? The Teletubbies!
