Must we be liberals....only opposite?
Didn't you see that episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show where Rob takes judo lessons so Laura won't be tougher than him anymore?
Of course, men who form whiny victim groups and men whose wives can beat them up are probably groups with a great deal of overlap.
Yeah, it's a lame attempt at humor... and yeah, if the gender roles were reversed then the libs would be hitting the fan right now...
...but one of the differences between the Right and the Left is that we understand the difference between cartoons and reality?
Your point, however, about violence being a two-way street is well taken. Men can be abused by women just as easily (and some studie suggest, just as often) the other way around. Those in the "abuse industry" know that fact, but due to their roots in '70s feminism they don't exactly publicise the fact.
If women get to hit men for that silly crap then men should get to hit women for scratching the car or burning the supper.
Hearing the sound of a baby crying, Greg runs in the front door. Greg exclaims to his wife, Diane, what is THAT?! Diane deadpans, Its a baby, Greg!
Frame 2: Greg responds, I know what it is! I mean, Why is it HERE?
Frame 3: Diane explains what the baby is unable to say: Im from next door! My daddy got a black eye and a broken arm, and mommy had to rush him to the emergency room!
Frame 4: Greg is appalled. He wonders, Oh, man! Poor guy! What happened? Diane then lands the punch line: He forgot her birthday for the third year in a row.
Its a comic strip some folks need to get a life
Like I don't have anything better to do than spend my life complaining about tasteless comic strips. I don't think it's funny. It's stupid. So what? Now, the episode of Dick Van Dyke was funny. Ralph telling Alice "to the moon" was funny. I don't see what the big deal is.
Yeah, and Desparate Dan ate cow pies, and Popeye beat the crap out of Pluto..
...GET A GRIP on reality for crying out loud!
So9
The moral of the story is don't forget her birthday. And yes it is a double standard but we have to deal with it.
