BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Antwerp will dim the bright new lights along the Belgian port city's waterfront after prostitutes complained they were putting off potential clients.

"We had some remarks from the prostitutes that there was too much light, both for them and the clients," city council spokesman Jorn Verbeeck said. "We are investigating the possibility of lowering the light there."

Prostitutes complained to city and police officials that the lights installed in December did not give them enough privacy and hurt business, he said.

Translation: Too much light adds age to the product and cuts into sales. Not a pretty sight.

I think it shows the moral relativist mindset of so many Europeans that this effect of the new lights is considered bad enough to warrant being changed.

Yea, unlike French wine, vintage and a little sediment in the bottom isn't an attribute here

I wonder if Antwerp muggers aren't also in favor of dimming the lights?

Now let's see why could this be hurting business?

1. The not enough privacy argument made in the story, I guess. But which side of the transaction would this bother? The side that nightly really several times nightly has sex in the street? Or is it the side that is possible just in port for a short time and willing to once have sex in the street?

2. Could it be that the customers are put off too much by getting a good look at the "goods?"

3. Could it be that the "goods" are too put off by getting a clear look at the customers?

I have heard this is a high profit business and fairly high even at the seedy low end of it. Seems like there is a profit opportunity created by the lights to offer for a fee so modest shelter from them.

Plus, the hallways and alleys are not dark enough for public fornication ("privacy").
If they have to rent a room, it drives the cost up, and that hurts "business".

I'll never visit there, but if I did I'd want a full-body condom.

"If the test gets the THUMBS-up from the city's sex workers, the system will be rolled out across the red light district.

So Thumbs is the Belgium word for penis. Who would have thunk!!!

Antwerp: how such a city has sunk to such lows.

http://www.Americanthinker.com

"Antwerp is the city where the Arab European League was founded by Abu Jajah, a Lebanese who happened to have been very involved with the Shia terrorist organization Hizbullah.

Abu Jajah recently stated that

“Antwerp is the European pillar of Zionism and that is why it has to become the Mecca of pro-Palestinian actions.” "

Antwerp is a great town, expect for all the Muslims who have been breeding like roaches and fomenting jihad against the centuries-established Jewsish population (largest in Europe).
