This one is a bit more graphic as it was taken during fetal surgery, but breathtakingly moving:
Beneath the fist-size incision lay Abigail, face down, with part of her back showing, and the spina bifida lesion exposed. Bruner's colleague, Dr. Noel Tulipan, continued. Using delicate and precise instruments, he lifted the tissues surrounding the baby's lesion and carefully closed the hole with tiny stitches. Then Dr Bruner stepped up to close the uterus. A photographer captured this amazing moment, as the baby's tiny hand appeared to be reaching out to shake Dr. Bruner's hand. After gently replacing Abigail's arm, the surgeon sutured the mother's womb and the amniotic fluid was reinjected. The uterus was then pushed back into its home within Kelly's abdomen. The participation in the SF 'Walk for Life' is impressive! Perhaps the times are indeed changing for the better as we near another anniversary of the horrible SCOTUS decision regarding a supposed right to 'privacy' that is responsible for thousands upon thousands of deaths. It's very heartening to see the photos.
Wow! You guys got out a GREAT crowd. Way to go!
Thank you for these great photos! It was a fantastic turnout and a beautiful day.
One of my favorite parts was watching tourists' and locals' jaws drop along Fisherman's Wharf as they realized they were looking at thousands of pro-lifers walking through San Francisco--of all places. Thank you to everyone who took the time to show up. We sent a powerful message today.
I was so surprised at the vehemence and hatred shown by the protestors. They were very upset that we were marching. They obviously feel threatened and are desperate. Why else would they try to step on our parade? I don't bug them when they demonstrate. One frequent epithet hurled at us was "Abortion is the law", to which I always replied with a big smile "Not for long." That didn't seem to cheer them up.
They had no compunction whatsoever in using much profanity (especially the F-word) in their attempt to deter us, even though there were six young children with me and my friend. No respect for children. Should that surprise us?
Over and over groups of them shouted "Go back home." I live in San Francisco. Duh!
Many of the protestors were in groups that were loudly chanting some phrase over and over, such as "Keep your rosaries off of our ovaries". We smiled at everyone and yelled "Hi Ex-Fetuses! We really glad you're HERE! Glad you made it out (of the womb)!" We had a great time!
Before the march, I asked one woman: "How many children have you met that you wish had been aborted?". She said "Well, ... none." If she thinks about it long enough she might march with us next time.
Ash Wednesday is coming in two weeks. As we walked on our path to Fort Mason, at times being jeered on both sides by hateful detractors, I thought of how Christ carried his cross to his cruxifiction along a similar path lined with hateful detractors. And yet, he loved his enemies. And that's the key. You can change their hearts with love, but not with hate. It's the first time I was ever jeered on both sides by a mob. But I did not mind. It was a gift, in that it made me feel an affinity to the experience of Christ, minor though our sacrifice was.
God Bless Dolores Meehan, co-chair of the Walk ( walkforlifewc.com ) who I met today. I would love for her to run for Mayor or supervisor in SF, to replace Mayor Newsome or Supes Ammiano, Alioto-Pier, Daly, Maxwell, Dufty, and Peskin who officially encouraged the intolerant attacks upon our "Walk For Life".
What has happened to "The City of Saint Francis", the city of Love?
Love to All,

Nice story.
Shocking them is always good. It undermines their self-confidence and sometimes confuses them, which can make them less effective.
Keep playing with their "minds." And "hearts." Psychological warfare is invaluable.
that 'footprint' is a PRICELESS photo!
Cool picture. I probably had too much fat on my tummy to ever see anything like that. Is that really possible to see a foot?
Thanks for your post. Frankly, I was so touched by the event, I'm still at a loss for words to describe it; but I think you've summed it up quite nicely.
That one photograph says more than a million artfully crafted phrases.
-good times, G.J.P.(Jr.)
I'm glad you took more photos, James. Displaying the contrast bewteen the two groups tells so much. I was very surprised myself by it. I'll check out your site now.
God Bless the protestors! That's taking the message to the gates of hell!
Your pictures brought tears to my eyes...the Democratic Party has been the champion of abortion for so many years that as technology catches up with what many of us have known instinctively for years--that human beings in utero are living and feel pain--the Democratic Party will melt down and maybe take the liberal media with it--they have been blocking the truth for years--they are covered in blood.
Checked out your pics. I was in the back; I did not realize the SFPD was taking that formation at the front of the walk. wow.
yes...I would see the occaisional hand or foot during a couple of my wife's pregnancies...plus I was there for all four of my children's births.
