The President, First Lady and their parents relaxed at the White House today. Former President GHW Bush visited the press corps on duty in the WH press briefing room.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: This week, Washington has been marked by pomp and circumstance. In a free nation, these ceremonies are more than pageantry. They underscore that public office is a public trust. America's elected leaders derive their authority from the consent of the American people, whom we serve. This is a high privilege, and that privilege carries a serious responsibility: to confront problems now, instead of passing them on to future generations.
As long as I hold this office, I promise that I will serve all Americans and will work to promote the unity of our great nation. And working together, we will secure the blessings of liberty, not only for ourselves, but for generations of Americans to come.

I had not noticed that but once you had pointed it out it is obvious she is graceful.
Yeah, that's exactly what annoyed me. And it's not like everyone didn't already KNOW. The VP himself had already mentioned it before that. I don't know why they thought that would accomplish anything but it just reaffirmed my belief that they would try anything to get elected.
Prayers for Mike tomorrow
I just want to get a hold of him to tell him to wait til Mon to drive home...the roads will be clear by then....
I will pray that you can get hold of him and tell him to stay put till then

I figured out how to post a picture. :) What fun. I love this picture, too, hoosiermama.
Not Alter but I believe it was Feinman. SO many whining dimwits; so easy to get confused.
First photo in #9 shows a meeting of the mind between two men who read one another so well that little conversation is necessary.
You have FRmail--finally home from DC!!
What an ordeal...
She did indeed (can't blame her) and the young man was also a bit stiff.
Frankly that lovely, kind jesture at their final ball left me in a puddle of tears. What a finale and so unexpected.
Thank goodness I have been praying for you on and off all evening especially when I saw the snow on FOX, I was just about to send you FR mail.
It's beautifully done....Have been listening to the music while enjoying the photos again and again..... I just learned how to ad a link WITH the title....
Thank You!
Good night snugs.....Sweet dreams
kitkat, this is my evaluation. The Phantom's voice is richer than Michael Crawford's, more baritony, if you will, but he had some occasional pitch problems that bothered me at first. As his acting got more dramatic, I think his singing got better too. I was impressed with him, and very much so at the end.
I was actually the most disappointed in Christine, who has a wonderful voice but weaved in and out of tonal purity at the wrong times, and had a problem with breathiness when it didn't fit the song.
Raul's voice was magnificent for the role, the ensemble singing was superb, and IMO, the staging of "Masquerade" was almost up to 1930's MGM standards........which is saying something!
Hi Kath, I'm just getting back to the thread after having gone out to the meeting I had to attend.
Answers: First, perhaps because they're paying closer attention now. Four years ago, nobody in Europe took GWB seriously. Second, perhaps because it's become habit by now. Nothing the man does can meet with Euro-Left approval.
