Heal Our Land...Inaugural Song Online
Hatch Music ^

Posted on 01/22/2005 10:54:37 AM PST by Keyes2000mt

I was really touched by the song at the inaugural, "Heal Our Land". I researched it and found it was written by Orrin Hatch and that Hatch has the song on his website as Whitley Phipps sings, Heal Our Land . Just click on Heal Our Land and it will play the whole song for you.

Mr. Phipps's voice is only surpassed by his radiant smile.

Heal Our Land

Heal Our Land
Please grant us peace today.
And strengthen all who lack the faith to call on Thee each day.

Heal our land
And keep us safe and free
Watch over all
who understand the need for liberty.

CHORUS:
Heal our land
Heal our land
And guide us with Thy hand
Keep us ever on the path of liberty
Heal our land
Heal our land
And help us understand
that we must put our trust in Thee,
if we would be free.

Heal our land
Please help us find our way
For in Thy word
we find our strength
if we will come each day.

Heal our land
And fill us with Thy love
Keep us upon the path of truth
that comes from heaven above.

CHORUS (repeat)

Protect us with the power of Thy rod
And keep us one nation under God.

CHORUS (repeat)

Thank you! I sent out the lyrics but didn't yet have time to find the music: thanks!

P.S. A Los Angeles Times reporter took the time to call it a "terrible song." It must be a sad, miserable feeling to be a leftie. I LOVE this song!

Orrin's songwriting ability is impressive. This raises my estimation of him considerably.

I thought it was written by Ashcroft .. not Hatch.

Okay - went to the web site and found the song - Hmmmm? I don't know where I got the idea it was Ashcroft.

Another song in the Inaugural Ceremony, "Let the Eagle Soar," was written by John Ashcroft. That is probably the source of your confusion.

You are so correct - as usual - Miss Marple.

I knew Ashcroft had written one of the songs. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I have been listening to this song and it is really very good. Maybe we could get all the inaugural music together.

I know this is an old thread, but did you know Ashcroft wrote one of the songs they did at the Inaugural also? It was "Let the Eagle Soar"

You probably knew that already, but I didn't.
