Living here in WV as a Republican, I can assure you that Byrd's continued lifeteime reelection has everything to do with being a Democrat in a heavily Democrat state, along with the fact that obtianing seniority in the Senate makes that Senator (and hence the state he "represents") that mich more influential.
Hear, hear. Well said.
He's still a racist, bigoted POS, today.
Get the NAACP to spell out their acronym; call Jesse, and call Al. Then meet with the ACLU, and demand face time with 27 federal agencies asking for assistance, just because... (shaking head - rolling eyes).
"One's family is the most important thing in life. I look at it this way: One of these days I'll be over in a hospital somewhere with four walls around me. And the only people who'll be with me will be my family."
Sen Robert Byrd
Or not.
Email the Klansman and tell him what you think:

Perhaps the dems embrace this as celebrating diversity?
It would be nice if the Pubs would remember this and many other perfidious actions and statements of the RATS, put two and two together and figure out that they need to run over the RATS like a steamroller on bills, initiatives and appointments.
Not holding my breath though.
Self defence is everyones right. To protect ones way of life and family as well as society takes a good man.
Was Byrd-brain wearing his sheet when he made this decision?
Bigotry exists toward outsiders, period. There was never that much racial tension, as there has been societal tensions, in general. The miners against the owners, the rednecks against the "city slickers", etc.
I was born in Wilmington, NC, site of "the reverend" Ben Chavis, and the infamous Wilmington 10, a group which was found responsible for burning a church and a furniture business. We had KKK, ROWP (Rights of white People), and a host of others come into town for the trials. It was real theater.
But, NC and WV are behind thaty. Unfortunately, sonme of those in power still wish to appeal to that segment. When they are added to the list of"life-long Dimocrats, (and their daddy was, too), they are a powerful force. IMO, only timne and some deaths will make the difference.
On another note, I am no longer a registered Republican, since they seem to be merging in their role of maintaining a LARGE Gum't!!!
I still vote for Republicans, and I voted for our Prez, but I held my nose! I hope we see some real change. But, the cry to abolish all of those redundant "Departments", and eleiminate wasteful duplicate programs, seems to be muted these days... I wonder why? I guess power does breed corruption, and pandering...
I wonder why the liberal media won't ask KKK Byrd about how many cross burnings he attended and how many lynchings he participated in...
I don't think he used the word because he is racist. It think he used the word because he is an idiot. He is blocking this vote because he is a racist.
You know, that is a very good point. What if CBS decided to spend five years researching Byrd's KKK activities like they spent five years and a ton of resources on W's National Guard service record? Isn't that at least as important? Wouldn't finding the truth of the allegations be far more shocking and damning?
You can do anything you want, if you've got the votes.
<< Now, Byrd might not be a racist today.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. >>
Took the mirth from me mouth.
[And/or he's a "Democrat," isn't he?]
Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty...
NOTE TO SELF: "Never trust little old men that have all their sweat glands in their lips, like to wear white sheets at night and want you to name everything they can piss on after them".
How far can these media people take the gullible among us before they wake up? It's glaringly obvious what Byrd is up to, once you at least know about it. The MSM silence is deafening.
