You know, that is a very good point. What if CBS decided to spend five years researching Byrd's KKK activities like they spent five years and a ton of resources on W's National Guard service record? Isn't that at least as important? Wouldn't finding the truth of the allegations be far more shocking and damning?
One huge difference is that they would actually find something and not have to manufacture it.
