casuistry:
1. Specious or excessively subtle reasoning intended to rationalize or mislead.
2. The determination of right and wrong in questions of conduct or conscience by analyzing cases that illustrate general ethical rules.
You are welcome.

Rants like yours give Dhimmicrats ammunition to accuse the GOP of being a group of reactionaries and gun-toting bigoted nuts. The Democrats need no excuse, it appears.

The actions of Muslims speak louder than words. I don't see how any freedom-loving human being could defend Muslims who slaughter those with different beliefs. I have yet to see anything good that Islam has brought to any group or nation.

We can either have moderate muslims as our friends and allies, or we can p*ss them all off and make our enemies even stronger, by being narrow-minded and bigoted. The latter is exactly what al Qaeda wants. Exactamundo. Which is why Bush's positive statements about Islam are justified. Islam is mixed. Bush isn't summarizing the history but articulating the future in those statements.

..., and the First Amendment and American law enforcement will not protect you. ... two words....Second Amendment.
Touche...but I suppose believing in our faith, our culture and our Constitution just makes us a "group of reactionaries and gun-toting bigoted nuts."

***>> Or, Muslims can take responsibility for a 'religion' that is out of control just as Western civilization did in its revolt against Rome's perversion of Christianity. <<
***Good point: they should and no arguments from me. The same way that Catholics should take responsibility for Humanae Vitae and all the misery and suffering that has resulted.

There is no doubt of this. I think they believed our response would be similar to what happened to the USSR. I imagine that they find Iraq and Afghanistan much more convenient places for jihad than across the Atlantic.

For those who may not know what Boolean is talking about here is a
link to the full text of Humane Vitae
And here is a snippet:
Marriage is not, then, the effect of chance or the product of evolution of unconscious natural forces; it is the wise institution of the Creator to realize in mankind His design of love. By means of the reciprocal personal gift of self, proper and exclusive to them, husband and wife tend towards the communion of their beings in view of mutual personal perfection, to collaborate with God in the generation and education of new lives.
OMG! Can't you sense the vile papist corruption oozing out of every pore of Humanae Vitae! I don't know how we Catholics live with ourselves!
To: Banjoguy
I know what casuistry is, and what it isn't. It is not taqqiya.

It is really intellectually lazy to not back up what your opinion with fact, if indeed your comment was fact-based to begin with.

(groan). Maybe do a Google or something. The Encyclopedia Britannica is also online. I have neither the time nor the inclination to supplement your education. It is your proposition, the burden of proof is yours. But since your equation is a lie, you're lost. Why don't you just admit it: you thought you'd get away with your defamatory little sophistry, and now you haven't the integrity to admit your lie.

some Muslims are Islamo-facists, and most people who study this a little bit know that the cult of Islam is based on the exploitation of the weak by demanding tribute 'or else'.The militant, fundamentalist, Muslims exploit the weaker and "nicer" Muslims. The nicer Muslims have let their own good human nature take over and not committed to Jihad. They have left 50% of Muhammad's teaching behind whether they know this or not. But they are exploited by the true believer, Jihadist Muslims who have plenty of murderous teaching in Koran Hadith to back them up
Here is an open invitation to anyone who may be reading this: don't just quote me Qur'an verses about Allah's compassion and mercy. I know they're there. What I ask you to do is establish definitively that they apply to unbelievers, and have been understood as such in mainstream Islamic thought throughout the ages.

8-or-so hours in, and I've already collected a fair bit of flame for my middle-of-the-road Republican views.Where in the middle of the Republican road is the slander and libel of Catholicism placed?

Taqiyya has 9000 hits in goggle while your casuism has 9. Did you misspell this "important" Catholic doctrine of deception?

Did you misspell this "important" Catholic doctrine of deception? He's merely twisted and distorted the definition and reality of casuism beyond any recognition, in order to try to reduce it to taqqiya. And now, like a good anti-Catholic troll, he is either desperately thumbing through his Chick tracts for further lies, or he has fled outright.
