He could have had this ticket vacated in a New York minute if he'd just kept his cool. Now that it's gone public, he's in the soup. This will not help his future career even if he gets away with it. It not only shows that he's corrupt; it shows that he has poor judgment and is ineffectual, which is probably worse in political circles.

THIS BS FROM THE ENVIOREMENTAL WHACKOS
"Kevin Parker, a Brooklyn Democrat, has a strong community background and long history of public service, despite the fact that he is currently the youngest member of the New York State Senate. YADA YADA YADA......
Before his election he served as an aide to several public officials, including the state Comptroller, the Manhattan Borough President, a New York City Council member and a state Assemblymember. Among his several current committee assignments, Senator Parker is the ranking Democrat on the Energy and Telecommunication Committee where he has already drawn attention to himself simply by doing his job.
Early in the session the Committee held a hearing to confirm the Governors candidate for chairman of the powerful Public Service Commission (in New York, unlike other states, it was not the Legislature that deregulated the electric power industry, but the commission, an executive agency). At the hearing, held in a small room not intended to accommodate public involvement, Senator Parker questioned the candidate, William Flynn, prolonging the hearing to 40 minutes. Incredibly, some considered this inappropriate behavior. Parker received a reprimand from Sen. Owen Johnson, the committee chair. This, however, prompted an article in the New York Times as part of its series on Albanys dysfunction. As a member of the Senate's Democratic minority, it is too much to hope that Parkers defiance of the Capitols anti-democratic rituals will change the way the Legislature does business, but we hope that he continues to speak his mind and open up the debate."
HE JUST WANTED FACE TIME.

From Bio:
Kevin Parker is a special assistant to State Comptroller H. Carl McCall. A member of Community Board 17, he has worked on the staff of Councilmember Una Clarke and Assemblyman Nick Perry.
He also worked as a lead advance for Hillary Rodham Clinton's senate campaign.

The Brooklyn Democrat was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor"
If it were me or you, would it be a misdemeanor?
S 120.08 Assault on a peace officer, police officer, fireman or
emergency medical services professional.
A person is guilty of assault on a peace officer, police officer,
fireman or emergency medical services professional when, with intent to
prevent a peace officer, police officer, a fireman, including a fireman
acting as a paramedic or emergency medical technician administering
first aid in the course of performance of duty as such fireman, or an
emergency medical service paramedic or emergency medical service
technician, from performing a lawful duty, he causes serious physical
injury to such peace officer, police officer, fireman, paramedic or
technician.
Assault on a peace officer, police officer, fireman or emergency
medical services professional is a class C felony.
