Inauguration News

Ok. I'm back. Lots of film. I was on the street in Penn Ave with my SS bud. I'm bruised from a protestor doing the flying zambonie over the fence and I wrstled with a mad horse that bucked his rider and went nuts after all the noise. Dammit Jim, I'm a PEOPLE doctor!!!
Full report to follow, although my hand may be in a cast. So typing may be very bad for a while.
Big oxymoron: why are peace protesters the most violent and does a belief in socialist idealology (sp) preclude a belief in personal hygine?
Finally (after 48 hours and on pain killers)
NAVY DOC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi! All. Hairline fracture to one of my metacarpals...nothing to cast, but it's going to ache for a while. I found myself between some hippie types and the Jersey State Troopers. One just rushed me....and, well, I violated the Hippocratic oath, but I was in a corner. One of the cops picked him up and hauled him off, so it's all good.
As for the horse, I'm not sure what organization it was from. I was actually afraid for one of the Culver Academy kids. Middle trooper, last row, the horse was getting out of control. I was afraid I'd have a neck/head injury in the middle of the route. An instructor rode up next to the kid and held on to the bridle/reins (sorry I'm not a horsey type) and stabilized the situation. I still followed them until they left my AOR.
No this horse was from one of the exhibition troupes. I didn't witness the fall, I got called after the SS rushed the horse and (unhurt) rider off the route about a block north. He was OK, but the horse was going nuts. Rearing, kicking, biting all w/in reach. The city slickers really couldn't get a clue to STAY AWAY and a couple were down (minor bruises). I had 2 thoughts: 1. If I had a piece, I'd just put the thing down (I didn't) and 2. Do I have enough narcs to sedate a horse??? I was issued a bag w some morphine, versed, Valium, etc, but I wouldn't have any idea how much to give or how. IM (stuck in the muscle...my only option... would be at least 5-10 times the IV dose and I didn't have a clue as to the IV dose!)
Finally the people steered clear and the dude got his horse under control. He was really mad because he had been waiting 4 years to ride in this parade and he was bucked off in the first few blocks.

Bless your soul and your hand.
Looking forward to your pics.
The answer to the oxymoron is they aren't peace activists, they are Marxists and anarchists in a camouflage. It is also the same reason they smell.

The peace protesters were not effective. The Big Media gave them way too much air time as if they were hired by them to create a circus of freaks. Now T.V. commentators are starting to look and sound like freaks too. People with mental disorders are not providing ideas or leadership only negative images and protests.

Glad you're OK. Nothing worse than being on the ground in front of a rearing, frightened horse.

Hi Navy Doc. Welcome to FR!
Sorry about your hand. Thanks for being willing to be out there amidst all the protesters and for your service.
As for that horse, I'm not a horse person either, but unless you had really big doses of versed and morphine, the horse would win that round!
