Sorry, but it appeared to me that Peggy went out of her way tonight to diss the president's speech. It was like she couldn't help blurting out her true feelings despite the fact she suspected it would land her in some controversy.

Methinks she's a little bitter that she's on the outside looking in now. Some people can handle this, others can't. But that's the nature of hardball politics. Four years ago.....a ball gown at the Inaugural Ball.

Tonight......civvie clothes on a loser's show.

Well, I haven't heard her since this afternoon. I ended up sleeping most of the afternoon cause I developed a bad cold yesterday. I woke up in time to catch the President and First Lady at two of the balls. Wish I had seen them at the CIC ball, but I was down here freeping at the time. ;o) I understand that the CIC ball was free to active duty military!

I know that Peggy took a leave from the Wall Street Journal during the campaign to work for a candidate, but she never said who it was. She's always one to critique speeches cause writing is her profession.

How long has she been on the outside and how did that come about, if you know?

Frankly, this is the first time Peggy ever said something less than flattering about any of his speeches and although I was shocked, I took it from someone who seems to respect our President and was giving an honest assessment. When Brit asked her earlier what she thought, she was non-committal and I assumed something he said didn't sit well with her. I'd rather believe that than to believe there might be sour grapes involved.
