I started watching once I got home from work. Had to do a little running around, but could'nt wait to get to my TV and my laptop!

I absolutely love the First Couple, they are totally class. This has been sooo great watching all this and being online with my FReeper buds!

I just called my boss in DC and he was at one of the balls...they were having a (need I say this?) ball...the Prez and Laura had just left....life is good.....my W has been inaugurated......so I went and ate Mexican food and drank Margaritas.......that's what we do down here in TX when our man wins....

All I ever needed to fall completely in love with Cheney was to see that glint in his eye, and the little smile that tries to get out every now and then.

I keep chasing the different channels when hubby's 'guy show' advertises - LOL - but keep missing the first families dancing. Sure wish there was better coverage. Anyway, do the Bush girls have escorts? Did Condi bring her escort to the balls?

George P. says that the President is the most relaxed he has seen him since he entered public life. Says Laura is a loyal, intelligent woman and an asset. Grampa has had a tour down memory lane meeting a lot of people he worked with, a final opportunity to say good-bye to friends, and a vindication after the loss in 1992. (Good, I am glad someone said it!)

He also says his dad isn't interested in running, although who knows, things can change.

Man oh man...just made a quick trip over to DU...and the dissing of the Bush women was just awful. Laura and the girls look beautiful. Barbara Bush looks like the matriarch she is. Wonderful.

"Oscar de la Renta on being very complimentary and gracious about the First Lady. Sally Quinn trying to get him to say he changed her image. He says no, she always knows what she wants. Ha also says that she is one of those rare people who can wear almost all colors. Says the girls are wonderful and he likes to hear them talk to their mother. Wonderful, real, American family, he says. Sally Quinn is now in a terminal depression."

Thank you for some great information. Yes, anyone that has a sense of Laura would be pretty certain that she'd have her OWN mind in her manner and choices of dress. She runs true throughout her being. And I agree that Laura could put on ANY color and look just GREAT--after all, the whole of the country has WITNESSED this to be true over the last four years. And thanks, Miss Marple, for sharing De la Renta's words on his observations of the great, smile-inducing mother/daughters relationship that our First Family IS and shares.

Sally Quinn better go slug (another) stiff one down. LOL. :-)
