Bush Sworn-In, Swift Boat Vets Glad It's Not Kerry

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - With thousands of Republican faithful cheering the inauguration of President Bush to a second term on Thursday, a group of veterans at the forefront of the "Swift Boat" campaign banded quietly to salute their part in thwarting the candidacy of Sen. John Kerry.
"Swift Boat guys were not unified in supporting George Bush. Many were independent or many were Democrats. The only point of union was that they did not want John Kerry to be president," Jerry Corsi, co-author of "Unfit for Command," said in an interview after a luncheon at the National Press Club.
The best-selling book questioned Kerry's combat valor as a Navy lieutenant and commander of a swift boat river patrol in Vietnam and put the Massachusetts senator on the defensive soon after he received the Democratic nomination for president. Bush never served in Vietnam.
The book, which was also critical of Kerry's anti-war activities, served as a rallying point for criticism that swelled into a bitter controversy driven by television advertisements and conservative pundits on radio and cable television.
Kerry called the allegations in the book a lie and accused the "Swift Boat" veterans of being a front for the Bush re-election team. The group received some of its funding from long-time Bush supporters and legal advice from a Bush campaign lawyer, but denied it was tied to the re-election apparatus.
Corsi said the impact of the "Swift Boat" effort was bigger than anyone in the advocacy group had imagined.
"It had a life of its own," Corsi said. "But I think the president won his own campaign. I think George Bush deserves all the credit for what he did."
Corsi said the effort against Kerry would not subside even though the election ended nearly three months ago.
He said he plans to move to Massachusetts from New Jersey this year, establish residency and challenge Kerry for Senate in 2008. Kerry has not divulged his political plans.
LOL. GoCorsiGo...
That's almost enough to make me want to move there.
I did some SwiftGloating today!
I hope these guy are getting some serious VIP treatment in DC today.
A catfight between Theresa and Hillary would be too good to miss. Heck, I'd even change my registration back to Democrat just to support whoever was behind at the time.
Contributing to the Swift Boat Vets was the best campaign money I ever spent. I wrote the RNC that my money was going to the Vets instead.
That's almost enough to make me want to move there.
Sorry, but a move to that state would also have to come with a seven digit salary job for me to take the plunge.
Re#6 Kerry has already started his campaign for '08 and the WH and continues in his arrogant assumption that he is entitled to the 'rat nomination. He has some surprises in store in this regard as the left/what remains of the MSM/'rat powers that be figure he had his shot against the beatable Bush and blew it. To that end, Corsi's campaign for the Senate seat will begin in earnest at least a year before voting time. Lo and behold, the Swift Vets' claims will be found to be credible, documented and reported upon. Kerry will then be toast (but he might still win back his Senate seat). Sure will be fun to watch...
*****Kerry called the allegations in the book a lie and accused the "Swift Boat" veterans of being a front for the Bush re-election team.
I can't believe how emotional I was.
Thank you, Lord, for this good and decent man!

Ping/bump!
Is Corsi running as a democrat or Republican?
It's very gracious of Corsi to say that President Bush won his own re-election. Perhaps he did. Because we'll never know what would have happened to the equation if the Swiftees hadn't been a part of it, I'll simply say that I'm awfully glad they were in the game.
About 150,000 persons are affirming the same. May the Lord's blessings be always with the Swift Boat Vets and their families.
Amen...that is where we put our campaign money as well.
Reuters.
Real heroes don't seek the title of "hero", it finds them when they have revealed their character as opposed to their lack of it. For those of us who were willing to see that simple truth, the Swift boat vets were able to reveal all we needed to know about J.F. Kerry.
Getting Kerry out of the senate!!!
