President Jimmy Carter, first lady Rosalynn Carter and daughter Amy walked from the Capitol to the White House.
Chief Justice Warren Burger swears in Gerald R. Ford as the 38th president of the United States.
President Richard M. Nixon and First Lady Pat Nixon at an inaugural Ball in 1969.
President Lyndon B. Johnson and Vice President Hubert Humphrey on Inauguration Day 1965.
Incoming President John F. Kennedy and outgoing President Dwight D. Eisenhower on Inauguration Day 1961.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Vice President Richard M. Nixon toast their second term on January, 21 1957
Retired Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower took the office in 1953 while tanks cruised down Pennsylvania Avenue.
Harry S. Truman was sworn in as president at the White House on April 12, 1945 after President Franklin D. Roosevelt died in office.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt was sworn in on March 4, 1933. He took office during the Great Depression as told the nation on his inaugural address "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."
Herbert Hoover's inauguration took place on March 4, 1929.
President Warren Harding seated to the left of outgoing President Woodrow Wilson. Harding assumed the presidency on March 4, 1923. He was the first president to ride to and from his inauguration in an automobile.
March 4, 1917 was a Sunday, and Woodrow Wilson was sworn in at a private ceremony in the White House. The public ceremony took place at the Capitol on March 5, 1917.
On March 4, 1913 Woodrow Wilson takes his first term oath of office.
President William Taft was elected in 1908 as President Theodore Roosevelt's hand picked successor.
William Taft was inaugurated in 1909.
President William McKinley took the oath of office on March 4, 1897, as President Grover Cleveland watched. McKinley was reelected in 1900, but was shot on September 6, 1901 and died a week later. Vice President Theodore Roosevelt became president.
Benjamin Harrison's inauguration was held on March 4, 1889.
President Grover Cleveland won the election by just 29,000 votes. He was sworn in for his first term on March 4, 1885.
James Garfield became president on March 4, 1881. He was the first president to watch the inaugural parade from a review stand at the White House. He served less than a year in office. He was shot on July 2 and died as a result of his wounds on September 19, 1881.
Because March 4, 1887, fell on a Sunday, the oath of office was administered to Rutherford B. Hayes in a private ceremony in the Red Room in the White House on March. On the March 5th, the public ceremony was held.
The Capitol dome was under construction when President Lincoln was inaugurated in 1861. The Civil War began the following month.
The first presidential inauguration to be photographed was James Buchanan's in 1857. The Capitol was under construction at the time and the ceremony was held on wooden planks in front of the work site.

Actually, Harding assumed the presidency on March 4, 1921. Harding died in August of 1923, which is when Calvin Coolidge assumed the presidency.

Another way with Internet Explorer is ti di [File], [Save As], and when the next window pops up, choose the folder where you would like to save it.
It helps somewhat to create the folder ahead of time.
Make sure you choose, for "File Type", as the last step "Web Page Complete" if you want the images also.
