Creator Nile Rodgers says the video never mentions sexual identity. I bet Nile has to spin this one.

What Dr. Dobson doesn't realize is that most members of phylum Porifera are hermaphroditic, so more likely than not Spongebob swings both ways.

If it never mentions sexual preference, then how is it being judged as a pro-homosexual tape? Is it because somebody thinks the SpongeBob character is homosexual and that character's mere presence makes it a pro-homosexual tape? If thats the case, this is completely ridiculous.

Come on! Sponbebob. Patrick. You didn't know?

Creator Nile Rodgers says the video never mentions sexual identity.Nile Rodgers is the creator of the "diversity" video, not Spongebob. He was a member of Chic and wrote the song We Are Family for Sister Sledge.
Anyone who thinks Nile Rodgers is the creator of Spongebob Squarepants (which I've never watched) doesn't remember the Seventies!

Dude, he and his special friend Patrick live together, and in one episode I saw, they each have their clothes torn off, revealing they each have underware that matches the skin color of the other, whereupon Bob, who was in the midst of a snit with Patrick, responds "Oh, Patrick, you really do care! I have no problem at all inferring that although it is generally a cute show, there's enough "wink and a nod aren't we cleaver to outsmart the stupid parents in the Midwest" that I don't want my kids watching it.

*** If it never mentions sexual preference, then how is it being judged as a pro-homosexual tape?***
Because several resources at the site of the group making the video instruct parents and teachers how to teach children that homosexuality is good and normal.
*** this is completely ridiculous.***
It's not ridiculous... and the word hasn't gotten out enough. There are over 100 well-known childrens characters involved in this thing. I'm talking about Winnie the Pooh, Bob Builder, etc. all used to teach our children that homosexuality is ok.

No, Spongebob and Patrick don't live together. Spongebob lives in a pineapple and Patrick lives under a rock.
That was a good episode by the way. The punch line was that Patrick says something to the effect that his underwear was white when he put it on (and it turned yellow).

Please people. The comments by Dr. Dobson are NOT about the SpongeBob character nor the cartoon show. Dr. Dobson's comments are regarding the support materials to be used with the diversity video.

Nile Rodgers is the creator of the "diversity" video, not SpongebobCorrectamundo.
Nickelodeon (Viacom) can be brutal to the real creators of their 'toons.

Bert and Ernie probably got married in Massachusetts and the Teletubbies are flaming gay, but I think Spongebob is just too square to be gay.

They don't live togather, they live in seperate houses, Spongebob has a pineapple and Patric a rock. They are not homosexual. Annoying yes, homosexual, don't be rediculous. No more then the 7 dwarves, who all live togather.
I've got a littel daughter who watches it and I can say, of all the cartoons, it's one of the least harmful.
