55th Inauguration And Day's Events - Live Thread
I enjoyed the Fox segment on the Aggie fight song too. One disappointment...I wish Sen. Santorum would have mentioned the tremendous debt we owe to the heroes of Flt. 93 who lie buried in Starksville, PA this morning. As I watched the fireworks over the Capitol building and White House last night, I thought of them and how we'd be looking at the ruins of one of those great symbolic buildings this Inauguration Day were it not for their tremendous courage and sacrifice for our country. I hope someone will acknowledge that today, lest we forget.
Maybe Kerry will vote FOR Condi when she comes up before the full Senate.
Then he could say he voted against her before he voted FOR her!
Just heard on FOX News how all the Bushes have been sworn in with the same bible, including George H.W.'s father when he was sworn in to the Senate, Jeb into the governership and of course W in 2001. I told my husband, "That must be some powerful bible."
Here they are!
Hopefully it will be used to swear in Jeb and then later to swear in George Prescott Bush.
Let me just say, before the fashion police arrive, that Laura and the girls look lovely.
The MediaCrats have become a ridiculous caracature of themselves.
If we listen to them, the main measures of GWB's success are:
1) Whether the Dems stop acting like 2-year-olds and begin to cooperate with him.
2) Whether the administration declares how many mistakes they've made.
As I said elsewhere, the MediaCrats should just say:
"GWB will only be successful if no Dem ever calls him a liar....ooops! Senator Kerry just called him a liar...ergo GWB's a failure! "
Nothing like putting the measure of one's success in the hands of one's enemies.
Is it possible to get this thread listed in breaking news? I had a hard time finding it.(I'm not the best at searching, so it could just be me) Thanks
Over here for today's festivities!!!!
Laura looks stunning!!!
Yes! And Laura looks especially lovely this morning.
I thought so,too..
LOL! And I might add that color looks gorgeous on Condi.
Anyone notice how clean and serene Laura and the Presidents faces are as compared to the wrinkled and miserable faces of the Democrats?
I didn't get a very good look at Laura's cashmere suit.
She looked beautiful, but I wish they'd had better camera angles.
Present.
Hagel = Rino
She is indeed lovely. The most beautiful First Lady we've ever had.
Got here early! WOO HOO! Four More Years!
