Can anyone tell me why the reporter thought including the grade point average of one of these women was important? Obviously, we should excuse her rape because she's smart.

Can anyone tell me why the reporter thought including the grade point average of one of these women was important? Because people who go to college are better than other people, and people with higher GPAs are even better. Just ask my sister.

That area is known to be particularly friendly to the daughters of Sappho.
But $25,000 for bail? $25,000 for rape and slashing with a knife? Do you think a man would have gotten anything like this pat on the wrist? Unbelievable.

I wasn't limiting my remarks to this specific incident. Do a Google search about the incidence of domestic violence in all homosexual relationships. Let's just say it's higher than the heterosexual percentage.

The article says "sex that started as consensual but ended as rape." That seems a little hard to prove, to me ... When the alleged perpetrator is a man, the jury is typically expected to believe the victim in cases of date rape, and men are convicted based on such statements quite regularly. It'll be interesting to see if the same standard applies here.

Violence is an all too common occurance within lesbian circles. It's one of the many dark secrets of the lifestyle.
Oh yeah, I lived in a home once with a lesbian - she and her girlfriend would fight, i'd often hear one of them crying behind closed doors.
Although I could never figure out who was the Alpha lesbian.

If I were a juror, I'd have a hard time convicting a man or a woman of rape on no evidence other than, "But then I changed my mind ..."

A friend of my oldest son lived in a town near Northampton, and said they were right proud of the fact that the town was 40% lesbian.

And a 3.0 average.
"And in defense of my client, I present to the judge and jury her 3.0 grade point average."
"Now this isn't your ordinary 3.0. It's rather extrordinary."

My daughter almost went to Smith but thankfully she chose Holy Cross! One day we were walking the campus of Smith (beautiful by the way) and my daughter, a pretty hip kid, but also very observant said "mom, lets get the hell out of here, these people are messed up". That was the end of Smith. That whole area of North Hampton is like the twilight zone. Yet, it boast some of the best colleges in the country. Go figure.

A friend of mine calls most of them LUGs; Lesbians Until Graduation. I was going to make that point. A lot of them seemed like unhappy "converts." Very sad.

But like all theater, it's the honest and truthful moments that work best, such as the searing monologues from the remarkably intense
Rachel Klobertanz. There are times when you wonder why such young folks need to worry so much, so soon, about how to be the perfect lipstick lesbian, or how to become the most sexually desirable guy on the block, but then straight teens worry about all the same stuff -- and have a lot more avenues for expression. It would also be interesting if, in future years, the staff deviated from the agit-prop format and permitted a narrative voice of more complexity and ambiguity (these kids could handle that).
