President and Laura Bush attended “Saluting Those Who Serve” today, honoring members of our Armed Forces at an event that helped kick off his second Inauguration, in which, contrary to media reports, he is celebrating the clear mandate he received from the American people on November 2nd. His father and mother, former President George H. W. Bush, and former First Lady, Barbara Bush also attended the event, where President Bush 41 recounted his World War II experiences.

President Bush is working on his Inaugural Address which concentrates on the themes of freedom abroad, and an ownership society at home.

Also today (all day), Condoleezza Rice appeared at her Senate confirmation hearing before the committee that will confirm her as Secretary of State. ENJOY your trip to Sanity Island, and the Daily Dose!!

I should have time to check in!
We'll be going to the Independence Ball, and the prez is supposed to make a cameo there around 9:30. The camera is being charged up! We should be back to the hotel at a decent hour (it's across the street from the Convention Center) and I'll start downloading photos...

Hard to say for certain, but to me it looks like a pearl ring, not a diamond.

I never even knew she was dating anyone until I read

"Jenna arrives later, wearing a gold top with skinny straps, her head on the shoulder of her BOYFRIEND." from http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6831183/site/newsweek/

Well, for good for now, anyway.

He can be re-deployed, but Lord willing, not for a long while.

I've never been prouder of anyone or anything in my whole life than his willing service to keep us all free and safe!

***What is the amazing race?***

It's a reality show ("real" people, in real life--not actors with a script) where pairs of contestants have to travel around the world, following clues and doing certain tasks. The last couple to make it to the lasat destination of the day is usually eliminated. This is the first year I've watched it. Mystery, did I cover it all?
